Fuck this..start a thread about our Offense without Revis bucause that's what has to change to win some more games..bench Greene, stop running up the middle over Mangold, stop checking down and throwing 3 yard passes when you need five, throw more bombs like they did a couple of times yesterday. They didn't complete them but it was refreshing to see and maybe if they do it more often the wideouts will actually start to believe a few balls might start coming their way.

The offense has to score a lot more points now with Revis out. Lets see what Sparano can come up with as the defense probably won't be able to carry the team on most Sundays.

Not that different than with him... Defense has been disappointed so far this year.

Sexy Rexy will figure something out...I mean, we still have a couple of wins in the bag already and the Bills and Dolphins are easily two more...the ship isn't sinking, I'm still thinking 10-11 wins.

Bills and Dolphins are never "easy" especially the Dolphins.

Probably Revis injury changes more how other teams will play the Jets than how the Jets defense will play other teams. Opposing offenses can design game plans with their WRs in mind and don't have to concentrate on their TEs and RBs as receivers. Opposing teams may run a little less and the Jets may leave safeties over the top more often.

All in all, Revis injury hurts but its up to Rex and Petine to design a new scheme.

Sparano is know to be an aggressive OC..hopefully Rex will take the reigns off and let him do his thing..I thought I saw a glimpse of that yesterday.

This. Our secondary and corners are useless when we can't put pressure on the quarterback. Tannehill had so much time in the pocket yesterday which allowed his receivers to run wild.

With the way our run d has been it will be nice to see teams throw more.

The problem is Holmes is our only receiver that can actually catch the ball. Our offense is one dimensional at this point if Hill and Kerley can't step up. Hopefully with Keller coming back, we start can start chaining together some consistent drives.

Our defense doesnt get pressure when we do blitz so what difference is it going to make it? Instead of sending 7 we will just send 6 and have the extra man double cover the man Revis would be covering.

Its up to the D Line now, we havent had any pressure anyway, so if the front line can get pressure by themselves then losing Revis wont be as big.

I'm interested to see how this defense reacts to the loss of Revis. The front-7 will have to step it up now. The DL - which was supposed to be a strength - will need to live up to the pre-season expectations.

i think they will attack the middle more. its easy money. wilson isnt inside anymore, cause he needs to replace revis. and the safties need to help on that side more, cause revis is out. which means slot wideouts and tight ends on our horrible linebackers and 8th string dbs

This, if the Dline can raise its game the loss of Revis wont be as noticeable. If the front 7 doesnt get pressure, then Revis's loss will be more evident.

Losing Revis basically means we just lost another blitzer (we will have more guys in coverage now) so yeah its up to the line to get it done now.

Things aren't looking too good right now. If the Jets had a better pass rush I think it would soften the blow of losing Revis, but they don't. I think this means Rex will blitz a lot less and play more zone. The Jets pass rush has been non-existent even when Rex brings the house.. It's going to be terrible with only 4 guys rushing and everyone else pinned back in a zone.

Revis is just one guy, but his skills change the whole dynamic of the defense. Get ready for a lot of time consuming drives as they will probably try (unsuccessfully?) to play alot of bend-but-don't-break defenses... keeping everything in front, and less agressiveness.

With the way the offense has looked the last two weeks (terrible) I don't see the Jets winning very many games because the defense is going to look and play much different and the offense isn't going to help them at all by picking up the slack. Get ready for a lot of 27-10 losses like we saw in the Pittsburgh game the rest of the way.

Oh, like in the Pitt game? You must have missed that Revis did not play in that game. And yesterday the D did play poorly, but it would have been much worse without Revis, who stripped the ball from a carrier and recovered it. He was also putting in some hard tackles in support of the run D.

This is Sparano's first year as an OC. So how is he known to be anything 3 games into his first year.

I think we're going to really change the way the front seven operates. We need to go lighter in the front seven with Coples and Maybin to hopefully generate a passrush that will help mask the corner situation. Sure the run game will suffer, but we can't count on the coverage to hold up for large amounts of time like it has in the past.
