The Pats are a flawed team. O-Line has gotten worse, Hernandez is a big loss, and their secondary is still terrible. The Jets and Bills are certainly in the hunt with them, even with their own injuries
That's odd, but I guess I would feel the same way if the roles were reversed. Just goes to show how annoyed New York, Buffalo and Miami are about the Pats dynasty...... lol....
Well considering we already beat you and still have two games to play against NE. The Bills need this one at home because they have to go to SF, Arizona, and Houston
Definitely. This is the brutal part of the schedule for the Bills, made even worse by Arizona actually playing some ball.......
I saw both games and the Pats looked impressive in their lost while the Jets looked terrible even though they won. The Jets offense is bad and our defense that was average (to be charitable) is below average without Revis who might be gone for the season. Just wait until we get thrashed by then 49s and Texans.
First post here. Ecstatic to see the patriots lose tonight. Hoping they tack on another L next sunday here at the ralph. I'm looking forward to a good season and would be happy to see a battle for the division between the jets and the bills.
Thoughts from a Fins fan.. 1-Revis injury sucks for you guys. It gives life to our chances in the AFC east but you never want to see that happen to a future hall of famer 2-These teams are even. The Fins aren't as bad as the league makes them out to be. Without Reggie, that might change. 3- Mark Sanchez, for the moment, is better than Tannehill. Needed to be stated by a Fins fan. That game cemented Sanchez as the firm #1. Not sure that will be the case in 2013, but for now theres no question. 4-Tannehill is promising, future is bright (especially considering he has no WR outside of Hartline, who should have an alpha receiver opposite of him. 5- Laron Landry is the perfect S for that system. He's going to the pro bowl, no doubt about it. 6-Santonio Holmes is the least sportsmanlike player ive ever seen. But he's unstoppable when he has a rhythm. 7-Happy for Sparano. Philbin has the right idea down here and with some added weapons this offseason and Tannehill, future is bright. But Sparano got a raw deal here being saddled with Chad Henne. Good coach good man, and as much as it hurts, i'm happy for him. 8-Bart Scott is rapidly becoming that guy on the Jets whose talk is seemingly always better than his play. Good game. Sucks that it came down to FGs. That game and those players deserved better, but that's football.
1. It does suck, didn't realize Dolphins fans had hope for this year, but I guess until the season is over, you have to. 2. These teams are closer than expected, but I still think the Jets are better. Bush is a terrible matchup at running back for us, him being hurt was a huge turning point. But when Revis went out, it equalled out. 3. Not sure there was ever a debate about Sanchez vs Tannehill, but interesting to see a Fish fan saying that THIS game cemented his status as a #1 with the Jets. I thought he got no help from his WRs early, made some dumb decisions in the middle, and redeemed himself late. 4. Agreed. Tannehill looked solid. Didn't like him that much at Texas A&M, but he did have raw tools. Bess looked good today, he's always a solid slot guy. 5. Landry is a beast in this system. Still wish we had a better guy at covering TEs, but love his presence. 6. It was nice to see Santonio make big plays on top of begging for flags, rather than just begging for flags and sulking. 7. Sparano clearly has no love for the Fish at this point. 8. Scott talks so much it's almost impossible for his play to live up to it. He's not as good as he once was, but he's still a solid middle linebacker. The problem is the NFL is lessening the importance of downhill run stoppers at ILB, and the Jets have two of them in the middle. As for the division, Jets chances obviously improved a lot today in terms of the standings. But Revis's injury, if it's as bad as it looked, could kill our chances. When the Jets were a mediocre offense and a top defense, I thought the Jets had an outside chance at the division. Not a good one, but the Pats looked a little more vulnerable than usual this year. Now, a good defense and a mediocre offense can sneak into the playoffs and maybe get 9-10 wins, but that's a tall order. We'll see how the Pats and Bills do.
Ha, once again we're back to a 4 way tie in the division! Only the Jets hold the best divisional record thus far. The Patriots. Well that's going to be a true test, but they are certainly vulnerable! If we can steal one in Foxboro we're in very good shape!
It's unreal after all the hoopla & drama but if the Jets win next week, they'll be in 1st place (and most likely tied with another team in the division). Even better is that they'd have 3-0 division record in what could be an extremely tight division.
We are definitely in the hunt and, really, I don't think there are too many (realistic) people who thought we would even be in this position at this time. Most would have assumed the Pats would have maybe one loss at this point, not three. Obviously I would love to beat the Pats this week but I personally don't think we will. I'll be happy if we split the series with them (most likely winning at home). A loss wouldn't be so bad here as long as we can then beat the Phins in week eight as we'd likely still be in second place in the division as Pats play Rams week 8.
I believe we match up really well with the Patriot this year. Landry was a huge pick up this year, Bell is playing well, and our 2 rooks seem to be getting more reps. Landry can cover Gronk, Bell can cover Hernandez, and Cro on Lloyd. The wild card will be Wilson on Welker. However, the personel we had on the field yesterday, our zone look very good. A few miscues, but it was the first weeek.
If we win next week, and that's a pretty big if, we be in pretty good shape for a team that everybody said was dead 2 weeks ago.
I had NE at 4-2 and us at 3-3 at this point, the only surprise being their Week 2 loss on a holding call to Arizona. Either way, this isn't a game we're going to win which will put us 1.5 back of NE (when you factor in the tiebreak) and Thanksgiving we'll have a chance to get it back, depending on how things go the following three games in between.
There's no way to know how this is all going to turn out but I think 10 or 11 wins as a really good bet to win the division this year and 9 is not out of the question. The big question for me is whether Brady continues to play at the level he is playing at or declines some due to injury and age as the season wears on. If he's still playing at peak then the Pats win 11 games going away and we wait till next year to see if the dynasty is over. If he wears down then the AFC East is really up for grabs again and unfortunately there are three teams all positioned to make a grab at the ring. The 9 win ring.
we need to spilt the series with the Patriots to make the playoffs,Rex's first two seasons we went to the playoffs we spilt the series with the Pats, We beat them twice one year in the regular season and in the playoffs. We can win this game if our defense shows up and our offense doesn't turn the ball over we will have a chance to win this game
