Hey if Minnesota can beat them in Minnesota why can't we beat them at MetLife too? I like San Fran's defense, but their offense doesn't scare me. Wouldn't be suprised to see the Jets rack up another win next week no matter what everyone thinks after this win today.
Coming East is going to hurt the 49ers, and Alex Smith is unreliable at QB. The Jets can certainly win this game. Just cannot make mistakes.
The Jets and 49ers are very similar teams. Great defense, fair offense, defensive minded coach. Jets at home gives them a little bit of an edge in this game. Revis is a critical part of things but I think the Jets will simply alter their defensive gameplan to compensate the best they can. Should be a very good game next sunday against two very similar teams.
With Revis, it's a top defense. I don't know what proved otherwise. The points the Bills scored in garbage time? Ehh, not so sure they have done anything to make people believe otherwise.
Great defense? At what point this season have you seen a great defense? Was it the points that we gave up to Buffalo and didn't worry about becaue we all said it was in garbage time? Was it their inability to stop Pittsburgh last week? Was it allowing some no name running backs to gash us today? If anything I would say our defense is overrated becuase I'm seeing a defense with no pass rush, terrible linebcakers and 2 CB's who are high quality. After that I don't see anything that says great.
Well what about that great San Francisco defense that let Christian Ponder rack up a 94.7 QB Rating today? They also let Minnesota control TOP 33:28 to 26:32. Let up 24 first downs to the Vikings. Never sacked Christian Ponder once... See? We can do that both ways if you want to.
With or without Revis this game will be tough. San Fran most likely didn't expect Vikings to challenge them like they did today.
Need to see whats up with Revis injury before we start making any predictions. Jets can win but its going to be tough sledding.
But I did not say the 49ers had a great defense. I haven't seen enough of them to really say they do. I would say their D is better then ours.
Jets need to focus on getting young DL playing great football. That's the biggest problem right now on D. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Facts: Both team with same records Both teams are defense oriented Both teams prefer to play time of poss with the running game Jets have key injuries on offense Keller and def Revis Both teams played mediocre teams away at week 3 Jets won the game they are supposed to, 49ers didn't Jets are home I'm taking Jets at home, this is the week of the Jets running backs and Tebow pass.
I'm already conceding a loss. Unless this front 7 remembers it's legal to sack a QB, this defense will completely disintegrate without Revis.
I agree w/the op - the 9ers are beatable. The nuts are buying the hype that the 9ers are the 72 dolphins or 86 bears - totally false. They're a good team but hardly unbeatable.
And this is what I feared. San Francisco losing to a lesser team and getting all pissed off before they come here to try and prove a point.
The 49ers are a better team on paper without question. The Jets can hang with them we'll just have to see which Jets team shows up... Right now the Jets have so many problems in so many areas its totally understandable why there is so much pessimism. Luckily for the Jets this game is NOT a must win. Winning would be great but they really need to work out their issues regardless of the result.
Them losing yesterday is actually bad for us. They're probably going to try and take their frustrations out on us lol I see a sizeable blowout in our future.
