    Questions about these new Dolphins

    1. How good has their D been these past 2 weeks

    2. Is their offensively line great? Can we get to the rookie easy like Gabbert/McCown last yr

    3. How good are the corners? I have Santonio Holmes on my fantasy bench wondering if I should start him

Corners are bad. Holmes could be good for a TD. I don't think Jets D gets to him like the Jags game last year but they should be able to bring pressure and force Tannehill into some mistakes.

The last 3 games of 2011 disagree with you.

Fins fan...other Fins fans (and Jets fans) have handicapped the game pretty well, I think. You guys are better, but we have a shot. Overall, though...we had 73 snaps without a turnover last Sunday. Seems unlikely that we will repeat that this week.

The D has been average. Played well against the Texans early despite the score but turnovers on our side of the field made it easy for them. The corners suck. Sean Smith is really a #2 and Richard Marshall a 3 that are being forced to play 1 and 2 with Vontae gone. Safeties are average. D-line is very good. Linebackers are average.

Offensive line has been average and inconsistent. Jonathon Martin struggles a lot against a power rusher.

Lets face it, we just are not a good come from behind team. We dont have the horses to beat other teams deep when it counts.
For us to win we need to start strong and control the tempo of the game. If we are ahead and the defense plays average or better, we can mix it enough to keep the Offense on the field. But if we start with turn overs, 3 and out, we will let Miami control the tempo and key on Sanchez....and history will continue to repeat itself.

This one should be real simple defensively. Stop Reggie Bush and you win! If the Jets allow themselves to be ran on the entire game then we deserve to loose .

if we don't win and Sanchez has a bad game, on Monday morning all hell is going to break lose and the QB controversey will really begin, so on all accounts this has to be a must win game, We have San Fran ,NE, and Houston coming up the next 3 weeks as well, this game is important on so many levels,i just hope Keller and Revis are back and at 100%

If Stephen Hill can get into a good rhythm, with a few good catches, that will open things up for Santonio and Kerley, plus hopefully Keller will be back, he has always been a throne in the Dolphins side.

Without a doubt, Reggie Bush is a different runner than he has been in the past and could give us trouble.

I was ecstatic when he was ruled out for the Week 17 match-up last year and we STILL lost. This game is no cupcake and Bush will have a couple of big runs on this defense that we'll need to step up and take care of either defensively by holding them to three or offensively by going down the field and answering.

    The question is, will we?

  14. Great post. Jets are built for ball control. Problem is...that philosophy doesn't work very often when you are playing from behind. Sanchez tends to lose focus & plays tight when the chips fall

    1. Their D has let up four TD's in two games, BUT, the one TD Oakland scored was a 60+ yard screen pass (a play the Jets fail to execute) and the three against Houston's juggernaut offense were all set up by Miami's offense turning the ball over on their side of the field, and I believe two of them were set up inside Miami's 20.

    2. No, not great, but Jake Long is hard to get around and who exactly on this defense is going to rush the passer? Quinton Coples? Maybe, if he feels like playing.

    3. Sean Smith is very good and SHOULD almost eliminate Holmes. Richard Marshall against Stephen Hill will be interesting to watch. Having Keller would be huge, so hopefully he's ready to go. Their safeties SUCK.

I kind of agree with you but it depends on the team. Miami is not exactly a come from behind team either. They are even more of a run first team then we are except they have a better run game. If Miami is down 2 scores and tries to throw the ball they are screwed. I get what you mean though. If we are down 10-14 points to the Patriots we are in big trouble.

I agree this is a must win and if we win one out of the three NE, Houston, San Fran we are are right were we want to be. We win two we are ahead. We lose all four we are in big trouble.

For all the talk of the Pats they are just not as good as they have been. We have San Fran at home we can win both or either of these games. I will reserve judgement to see how the Jets bounce back this week against Miami

I think we will win, a huge factor being that Sparano knows the the ins-and-outs of the Dolphins squad.

Thats what I'm excited about. He knows their personnel on D well too so I expect a good gameplan of how to exploit their awful corners. If the O line holds up I think we can put big points up on them. Holmes should come out ready to play and Hill wants a bounce back week. Keller is going to be back according to him at least.

For our D Sparano knows 4/5s of that O line real well. I think he can help Rex a lot on how to exploit that. Their WRs are trash and we should be able to bring the pressure.
