What are your REAL expectations for todays game? As we have seen in the past sanchez is notoriously inconsistent, playing like shit one week and lights out the week after. Im expecting this to be a tough game and I hope this is one of those "stretches" of greatness for sanchez. ( he usually has a stretch of 2 or 3 good games) and we need it for the start of the schedule... Plus he has an older stable women now - so hopefully no pussy drama But if sanchez does come out playing like shit... do you think that the wildcat will help settle the game back down? I think the wildcat and tebow will be a blessing for situations as such, Im also worried about the LB's in the middle of the field . and rothleisberger killing us on the dump off over the middle ... i feel confident out CB's will hold the fort w/o revis see you in pittsburgh "can't wait"
I don't think we can make any assumptions yet. For all we know, the inconsistency behind Sanchez could have been due to offensive line inconsistency, or even more likely, Schotty inconsistency. I do think the wildcat is a good opportunity for Sanchez to get his head together if he's got a string of incompletions. I think for this game, we just have to hope Sparano installed a good game plan based on tape and team strength/weaknesses and see where it goes from there.
I think we compete well, but lose this one. With Revis eliminating Brown I'd have been much more optimistic of a win.
I think all but a small handful of QB's are inconsistent. I don't think Sanchez is in that small handful of QB's. I have no idea what to expect out of him today. If the Jets are going to win this game they're going to have to do a couple of things that are completely unrelated to Mark Sanchez play. They're going to have to shut down the Steeler running game or at least limit it a fair amount and then they're going to have to get pressure on Roethlisberger in the passing game. If they do those two things the Jets are likely to win unless Sanchez is a turnover machine. If they don't do those two things Mark Sanchez probably can't win the game for them even if he plays at a high level.
I am guessing here but I really feel that this new offense is won't have the same issues as in the last couple, passing 50-60 times in some games, I feel that Mark Sanchez really has a good feel to this offense plus the hiring of Tony gives Rex another coach on the field that sees the game the way he does, meaning isn't if he on point they won't force feed the ball down field like last year
I think Sanchez will play pretty well today, if the offensive line can withstand the Steelers front 7, not allow Mark to get hit too many times. Offense is going to need some big plays though. I would like to see Sanchez to go Holmes early and often. For us to win this game it's going to take an all out effort. Offense, defense and special teams. Not sure if I can expect that going into a hostile environment.
All week I was very confident, but for some reason I woke up with a 45-3 blowout feeling I had when we played the Pats. I really hope that doesnt happen lol
How many times have we lost to the Steelers with REVIS playing? end of the debate! The key is the passrush! If we harass and hit Ben we win! When we lost to them with Revis in the lineup we had NO passrush at all!
yes sanchez is inconsistent, but he had never played like he did last game, maybe in the playoffs, so i hope he and the offense will keep playing well and will have a strong game
I expect us to win..bottom line If Sanchez plays like he did last week , we will win regardless of Revis missing. If we score 21+ we will win as i do not see the Steelers matching that offensive production
Yeah, since Sanchez played well last week the obvious conclusion must be that he will play like shit this week.
We got stuffed on the 3rd play, right? The wildcat is not going to win the Jets any games. It's a gimmick. If it wasn't a gimmick teams would have built on what the Dolphins put together in 2008. Even they couldn't sustain success with it.
Some people on here are ridiculous! You really think this game was Sanchez's inconsistency? How many drops were there today? How many did Holmes drop? He can't make the throws and catch them. I mean come on. It was completely obvious.
Sanchez can't handle any kind of pressure. I don't mean on a play by play basis I mean at any point during the game. If he gets pressure on him early he gets scared and sucks for the rest of the game.
It was a 1st down that green was stuffed in . The package has nothing to do with what the dolphins did in 2008... Let it play out...no wait, you are right lets do what you want to be done..continue to do things the same way you have for years...
