Didn't last nights game also reinforce the idea that Clemens clearly isn't ready? I mean the guy was 3-9 with a killer INT. He can be great but lets lose a few games before we concede the season and put him behind center.
Since we are in the land of ridiculous, let's start Brad Smith - afterall Smith has more touchdowns than Chad too! Please note I am kidding, but it seems to fit right in with all the other nutty ideas. Let Kellen have a year to learn. Let's face it - we will not be in the superbowl this year no matter who is the QB. I just want to BEAT THE BILLS! Please?
Does any of the Chad haters realize he has faced 2 of the best defenses in FB? Or is that a silly fact?
thats a pretty legit factoid there buddy...ill be the first to tell you that no one cares tho...well i do but the rest of them dont
I agree Bollinger should start until the Oline shows they can form a pocket. At that point let Clemens get some mop up duty and if he starts to get it let him take over.
Brad vs. Vince Brad: Total Yards 2005: 3,605 Career College: 13,088 Vince: Total Yards 2005: 4,086 Career College: 9,167 Career College (Adjusted to 4 years): 12,123 Both played in the BIG 12, against many of the same teams. Vince played on a team ranked at the top of the nation. Brad played at a team that occasionaly ranked. But, I can't advocate Brad as a QB because his arm is proffessionaly unproven. Yet, I cannot think of a better emergency backup. If Brad became QB, I'd imagine the need to redesign an offense from scratch; and, a mostly original design... Not an easy thing. He does have proven specific skills running. Although he is not competing for the position of QB. I do wonder if the QB's may be looking over their backs a little.
This is going to be a boring year and we stillhave a great shot st getting Quinn. Yes I know we have Clemens but could we really pass on Brady? NO! We didn't pull the trigger on Bush and now we have NO running game at all. I say start Clemens and see if he can rise to the occassion, if he can't then we know we need Brady in the draft. Screw this setting him on th bench, you learn best by playing. Chad will get way more interceptions than touchdowns this year and our receivers will get killed.
It's also PRESEASON. Does anybody remember how good Pennington looked last year against the Vikings? Where did that get him or the Jets. Or how about how good Mirer looked in the last preseason game in 98, which led Parcells to believe he had his backup. We all know how that turned out. Nothing matters until the switch is turned on in two weeks. As for Pennington, he looked good in some spots and not so good in others. His arm strength looked OK to me. The pick was not a question of arm strength, but of throwing an ill-advised pass. The pass to McCareins looked good, though. Let's face it - Clemens looked far worse. I was away for two weeks and with no access to this board, but I knew this would be a thread after watching the game. Typical reaction on this board. I'm surprised nobody is clamoring for the Jets to sign Collins. Starting Clemens in front of this new line could ruin this kid. Let him learn while this team rebuilds. And let Pennington play some real games before we judge his comeback.
Nothing. His brain is scary but his body can't execute it. Penny has such inflated numbers, it's ridiculous. His whole game relies on YAC. I agree with the original post, I"m all for KC starting, even if he's not all that good. He gets hands on experience, as long as he doesn't get killed out there.
Sure he did, and he didn't make any horrible mistakes, but he's still JUST Chad. He's never been all that impressive. I like the guy, and I think he's smart, I just think he's a better QB coach than a QB.
you're right... except in the past few seasons, whenever Chad faces elite Defenses (especially in games that matter) he folds. so while it's meaningless now, he'll probably replicate the poor performances in games that count. cheers
Are you F?n serious? I hope this is sarcasm but if I remember correctly you are a big Chad mark. The guy blows ? even if he were statistically perfect in the 9 or ten games he played in the last three years ? how could you not call it a miserable career? Take the blinders off. You would laugh your ass off if Miami was wasting time with a loser like Chad.
