The thought of Sanchez getting benched is a joke

Tebow cant throw, period. And it would be the dumbest thing this franchise has done in my lifetime that I can remember.

Wilson and Skelton are probably the top two almost guarenteed locks to get benched at some point this year.

But id also say Blaine Gabbert is a name that should definitely be near the top of the list.

Guy is a heaping pile of trash terrified of his own shadow, and now hes got Henne behind him, who I definitely see starting at some point this year.

I was gonna say Gabbert, awful team. A decent vet behind him although they did spend a very high pick on him so who knows?

I think it's gotta be Gabbert or Skelton although I'm pulling for Skelton to succeed . Locker could be a good bet as well.A darkhorse would be Ponder in Viqueen land

Not sure if it'll be Gabbert. You put any QB in the league on that team and they're going to finish .500 at BEST. It's all about expectations. No one in Jacksonville is going to be surprised or really even that upset if they start off 1-8 or something along those lines. Especially since their best player just showed up.

The first guy to get benched will come from a team with higher expectations than that. That does include Sanchez, but I don't see it happening early on unless the Jets get off to a ridiculously bad start.

Russell Wilson is a strong possibility, since Lynch is a little dinged up and the 'Hawks won't be able to lean on him as much as they'd like to. Plus they're paying their backup a ton of money, and Wilson hasn't taken a snap in a "real" game in the NFL yet.

Skelton just went out with an injury (was carted off the field). All of us who chose him might end up right by default.

    Update: right ankle injury

Wrong! If you count leaving with an injury I win with Locker against the Pats.

Being sidelined and being benched are different things IMO.

After yesterday, I think it has to be Weeden. He makes Colt McCoy look like Joe Montana.

THAT... was a crazy play. And all for nothing since it was never a catch. I didn't think it was either after seeing it in real time. If the union refs are looking for a play where they can say, "See! It's not as safe without us!" it could be that one...

Weeden really was amazingly bad. Just by regression to the mean you have to figure he'll be a little better next week.

Put it this way: his ERA as a failed minor league pitcher was higher than his QB rating yesterday.

This sums up Weeden's day pretty well:

Ryan Fitzpatrick might be if he keeps that up.

That's a distinct possibility after yesterday. Plus they have a pretty tough schedule in the first half dozen games.

    Or Fitzpatrick.

It will be Weeden. CAN'T WAIT until the Browns fans chant for Mccoy. Which brings me another point, why did they draft him in the first place, Mccoy was a good game manager. 28 year old QB, yeah lets waste a first round pick on him. What a joke.

McCoy sucks, but I agree--drafting a 29 y/o Big 12 QB was not the way to go.
