Or do you think they'll just go to war with Greene/Powell/McKnight?

I really hope they do something. Greene is just absolutely terrible. Easily the worst lead back we've had in a looong time.

I'd love to make a move for Jones Drew but he'd be to expensive and same goes for Peterson

I think calling him terrible is a bit harsh. He's not great, but he's not Blair Thomas either.

I think they're going to stick with what they got for now. If it's obviously not going to be enough by the trade deadline you never know w/Tanny but I think the passing game can be strong enough to make up for a less than dominant RB stable.

I don't know if they are going to make a move, but I could see them increasing Powell's and McKnight's touches. Greene presents no real threat in the running game. If they don't do something, defenses are just going to tee off on the QB.

    Aren't in-season trades incredibly rare?

Seems to me teams live and die with what they have out of training camp.

Greene isn't terrible, he just ins't a number 1 back, and no I don't see us making a move for another RB unless someone gets injured

Let Tim Teboo get some carries.

It's one game and Buffalo seemed committed to stopping the run and making Sanchez beat them throwing to our WRs who are not named Holmes. That failed miserably, so teams will now focus on a different approach, which could open up running lanes for Greene.

I'm expecting Jets to stand pat. They've got a lot of money coming up the books next season but there might be some question marks about this D. If DeMario doesn't show them anything or safeties keep getting injured then Jets need to weigh what they can get from the draft vs. what they can get from FA to get D ready again. Too early to make hard salary commitments towards the future on RB.

I think running between the tackles against the Bills will be tough or everyone - big bodies up front, hard to move, and get to the second level. I look for Greene to have some solid games. I expect to see more Powell mixing things up, but if Sanchez shows this kind of ability for a few more weeks a running back won't have to be an all pro.

An elite back is not necessarily needed. If our OL plays like they did yesterday we can run by comittee with Shonn running most of the plays and McKnight/Powell sharing the rest.

Interesting to see how many Wildcat we play next week to open up the run.

It depends on what Jacksonville wants in return. But if we can get MJD at a reasonable deal I wouldn't turn it down.

But let's say the Jags season is in the toilet while we're in contention for the division getting MJD could potentially put us over the hump.

It would be really beneficial to make a move at RB but I don't think that they will. I don't hate Greene I just think he's pretty average. If we had an elite RB it would make a world of difference for the offense as a whole.

They better sort it out, because that New England Run D is no joke.

Bills D went hell-bent on stopping 1. the rushing attack and 2. wildcat.

I cannot fault that philosophy - Ryan repeatedly gashed the Bills through the ground the past five games, and Gailey made sure Ryan didn't do that this time.

That said, Greene STILL got 97 yards on a defense that was hell-bent on stopping just that. (You should have watched the Bills press conference - stopping the run was the primary focal point of the weekly game plan for this Bills defense, quite obviously; Gailey repeatedly said "We stopped the run well.") This also opened a lot of opportunities on the passing game as well.

And now all you have to say is "This Greene dude sucks"?

    Just wow.

Greene isn't terrible and he's making, what, 900K? He's a solid player, too much hate. Yeah, we could definitely add a speed back, but Greene helps this team IMO.

Greene is a good back. He's just not a home run hitter; and since he rarely, if ever, breaks long runs, it can be frustrating to watch him gain three, four, or five yards at a time, with the occasional negative play mixed in. It's not exactly Barry Sanders.
