Its not easy finding a late round/undrafted player that isn't a RB or WR. Safeties, OLineman, often go early because they are at an all time high when it comes to demand. Allen and White were two of the final or so 5 picks of the draft. I can see how one gets mad about Ganaway leaving(I wanted Polk to be perfectly honest even if he had a big health concern....I wanted Polk as early as round 3) but its not a huge deal if you don't salvage all of your 6th and 7th rders. Your lucky to have one keeper in those late rounds and a guy who can be groomed as a late starter(Bush). My lone gripe still is not taking a kicker/punter in the late rounds but I'll trust in Mike Westoff when it comes to that.
Are you really so naive to not understand the difference between a HC's public comments to the media about personnel issues and the ability to assess talent and know which player is a better fit for his defense? You should never believe what any head coach says publicly in the media regarding personnel issues, only suckers believed that stuff about WFH.
We cut players drafted 202, 203, 242 and 244 out of 253. These were all comp picks. Some of them may end up on our pratice squad, one has already been claimed. This is not as if we cut high end talent, we cut guys that barely got drafted, because we have depth at all those positions. Which RB are you cutting for Ganaway? What Saftey for Allen? What Receiver for White? What OL for Griffen? When the Pats had 11 picks a few years ago and cut most of them its a non story around here, but we cut for late picks and peopel go after the front office? I'm not in love with everything they do, but cutting marginal guys shoyuld not even be a story.
Seems like we are still in the midst of a few things. Always interesting to see how the teams shuffle around personnel in various ways. Hilarious to see a few fans losing their minds over cutdown day waiver moves. LOL.
Wow you responded twice to the same post! As I predicted the petulant little child had to get the last word in!
^+1 absolutely correctamundo. I'm absolutely glad we didn't hang onto marginal players just b/c of some scout's ego. If they can't play cut 'em and see if they are available for PS. Also like to see us making some moves to bring in Gates & Aaitui - But I wish we had gone in for a punter. TJ Conley is not my cup of tea.
Looks like nobody has taken him which I guess could mean a couple of different thing..The positive would be that he has been claimed (hopefully by the Jets) but it is subject to a physical which is under way..or the negative which might be that all the GMs know something bad about him is about to be released.
1) It's still 4/4... you'd expect at least one of the late rd pick to be a decent pick (like it had been in the past with guys like Slauson, Coleman etc). 2) Our roster doesn't have the talent level the Patriots had that year, plus we all know they're not very good at drafting. I'm not saying Tanny should get fired over this but it's something that does strike me. Plus both Ganaway and Griffin were seen as reaches when we drafted them...

why do you hate the pick? the guy is very athletic and put on some weight. he benefited from the 49ers strength program and has improved his blocking greatly. He is a very smart player ( Stanford) and can move quite well. The 49ers are loaded at TE but wanted to keep this guy! we got him instead! I think its premature to be so judgemental unless you know more about him then Rex and T.
Where did you read anything about his blocking? All I found was that he couldnt stick on the team because of his inability to block.
i love that you miserable SOJF's are having your day right now. It really must be a miserable life to hate every little thing about something that is supposed to be fun and entertaining. can't wait til this team plays well and this place is a ghost town.
