The thread does show you how unfair Tebow's coverage is. No one has gotten the scrutiny or the criticism after 16 games. First ? you mean only right? That's right you thought he was not a passing QB in college, my bad, I should learn to ignore anything you post. BTW empty pages as most responses are "he sucks" the only good response was " all those other QBs start for their teams, which brings up the one good counter point. To really have Tebow on your team as a starter you got to go all in with the spread option ...valid point. 1 valid point 3 pages.
I have no idea if abyzmul is a guy or a girl but if she is a she she has demonstrated more football knowledge than most in these Tebow forums.
Why would it be otherwise? If she's interested in football, she ought to know as much or more than a guy.
Leave Abyzmul alone guys, she/he is actually pretty funny and smart once you get past all the anti Tebow crap.
Because Tebow's fans invite it with the silly arguments. If Jets fans walked around talking about how Sanchez "just knows how to win," and how he has been "winning since pee wee football," and compared him to the greatest QBs in history, we would suffer the same scrutiny for it.
The thing you don't get is that Tebow fans only say these things because his detractors pipe off all day about how Tebow sucks. But it's not just that you all say he sucks *right now*. You say that he sucks and that he will NEVER be an NFL QB. That he should be a FB. That he should be a TE. That he doesn't belong in the NFL period. Because of the over the top dismissal of a guy we feel can actually play, we then compare his early stats to early stats of great QBs who struggled with completion % at the beginning of their careers. It is an illustrative exercise in order to show that people with these types of numbers early in their career can end up being pretty damn good. But that is interpreted by you all as "these Tebots think Tebow is as good as Elway". But nobody is saying he will be better than these QBs, just that its too early to tell and give him the same chance they got. Then you have the personal attacks. We're Tebots, Tebowites, religious zealots, etc... None of the Tebow supporters I know like him because of religion. I think it's a myth. Sure there are a small minority of people who like him purely for his Christian beliefs, but I'd estimate that as 0.5% of his fan base. Tebow was one of the best college players of all time at one of the biggest programs in the nation, and he is a nice guy. Of course he is going to have fans. Add to that, that women find him attractive, and now you have a lot of extra media attention that isn't his fault. Outside of NY and California, Sanchez is a relative unknown. Tebow is an international star. People here in Germany talk to me about Tebow. It's crazy. I could see how it drives Sanchez supporters nuts, but he does not create this attention. If a guy takes his shirt off in practice and it is on the front page for three days, it's not his fault.
Well, I think you are playing chicken and egg here. Clearly though, Tebow was to some a "chicken" before the "egg" was brought to the Jets. Jets fans most likely had a sad face after the Denver game then had a hope that Denver could crush the Pats. Well, Denver got crushed by the Pats - double sad face for Jets fans. Then Denver cast Tebow out with the Jets surprisingly as the takers - triple sad faced Jets fan. Then Tebow fans come to the Jets team saying he should/could/would be a QB - quadruple sad faced Jets fans. If Tebow never came to the Jets, then I would venture to say that most Jets fans don't have much of an opinion on Tebow other than the general consensus (both from diehard Bronco fans, Jets fans, talking heads, HOFs, coaches, etc, etc) that he is not a good QB who was over-drafted and then cast out by the Broncos. Since he lands here, Jets fans are forced to develop/solidify an opinion on OUR player. Many fans have decided/agreed that Tebow is not very good. Many have decided Eric Smith is not very good. Yet only one player has an adamant group of fans that plays 3 card monty with stats and arguments in some attempt, sadly, not to convince JETS fans that they have a commodity on their team, but that Jets fans are ignorant just like the Broncos management. These Tebow fans try to prop up their argument by putting down Sanchez or Elway or Jets fans in general - and to what end? To prop up Tebow but not to be a fan of a team. Jets fans are fans of a team. We accept and reject each other's opinions on OUR players and fight off other fans invalid opinions of OUR or THEIR players. We put down Brady (but we know he is good). Many put down Tebow just because he is a bad player on OUR team. Opposing opinions are either banned for trolling for the Pats or cordined off for being just a Tebow fan - because JETS fans like to talk to JETS fans about the JETS - our team.
This Tebow thing is larger than his arrival to the Jets and precedes his time in NY. It is debated all day by people who don't care about the Jets. Quadruple sad face that Tebow came to NY saying he could/would/should be a QB? What else should he say? He's always been a QB. Why would he say something else? Most people here do not put Sanchez down, at least not in the same manner that Tebow is put down. I would rather have Tebow as my starter, but you don't hear me saying Sanchez deserves to lose his QB1 status or that he is terrible. I just like the way Tebow makes shit exciting. I think he's a proven winner at all levels of football. I respect other people's opinions. What I don't respect is the name calling, premature declaration on his career, and over the top statements that are only meant to provoke the very same behavior that you all say you can't stand. You have guys who come in the Tebowmania forum and only post one line in every post... "Tebow is a terrible QB." Or, "Tebow sucks and is not an NFL QB." That is all they say in every thread. Then they get the "Tebots" riled up and the exact reason that many people say that they hate Tebow (his fans bad behavior) is what results. It's a self-licking ice cream cone.
Yeah except Tebow fans always feel like they're in defense because everybody points out how ridiculous they are.
