I'm just going to keep it simple, Woodhead has been rumoured to be on the chopping block with the presence of Vereen and Ridley in the backfield. With our need at both RB and WR this could be a good move for us if he is cut, what do you think?
If we were to use him the way the Pats did, then definitely yes. If we aren't then why bother. BTW he won't be cut becuase of Vereen and Ridley. He'll get cut because of Jeff Demps
Woodhead is an incredibly underrated player. Did anybody see what he did against the Jets last year? He made us pay for cutting him in preseason.
The only reason to bring Danny Woodhead back is if the Jets evaluate him as the 3rd down back. If he was bigger with the same skills then maybe you bring him in as depth and the chance at a surprise season. As it is he is a scatback with some receiving skills. That qualifies him for 3rd down back and not much else.
Woodhead would be a little luxary that we don't have room for. As a RB he would compare to McKnight and as a WR maybe Kerley. But Kerley and McKnight are both better special teamers so I'd stay put.
Wasn't that in 2010 he had a good game against us. Not arguing I just don't remember him having a good game against us last season.
He has a few decent plays against us in blow out games but he never really personally made us lose the game
We could bring him in to pick his brain about New England's offense, much like Belicheat did with signing former Jets players.
I think Ganaway would probably get snatched by another team if he is not protected on the 53 man roster.
Even before that, many of us were pissed because we saw what he did in several Preseason games, especially him torching of the EAGLES and thought he would be a helluva situational back... ...That's what he is IMO
Meh. As much as I liked the kid he really wasn't anything special. He was like a lesser Brad Smith, minus the WC expertise and ability to play QB. It's not that difficult to see rushers seem to always have good YPC on the Pats because they have Tom Brady and defenses play the pass quite a lot. Without Brady, Woodhead's value is much lower. I don't think he's better than McKnight. Powell, maybe debatable, but Powell is much more powerful. You could throw anybody onto the Pats in that role and they'd succeed. Also don't forget that the Pats oline is rebuilding, so don't expect incredible numbers this year, especially in the rushing game.
