But he didn't make the catch and I think it's safe to say we'll be seeing some drops from him this year. So long as those drops don't turn into INT's very often the 5 catch 70 yard stat lines would be more than enough with a few long TD's sprinkled in.
I've gone bust, but only just (8-8 or 9-7 without playoff qualification). The caveat is that we are set for a long-long time with Ellis-Coples-Wilk and the future is looking bright. I think we have the #1 defense but I don't think the offense will stay on the field long enough for them to gain that ranking. I'm expecting a shitload of 17-10, 13-10, 10-3 results this season, not always in our favour.
I think we'll have 11 wins with Sanchez or 6 wins (total) if some idiot caves and puts Tebow in after week 5.
10-6. Whether the offense becomes average and scores some TD's or stinks it up, our defense is still elite and we are going to win some games just from having a lockdown defense. Just look at our schedule, if we examine it now, we should only not be favored in five games. At Pittsburgh, Home to the 49'ers, Home to Houston, and then the two against the Pats. Lets say we go 1-4 in those five games as the worst case scenario, we could very easily go 9-2 for the remaining games. The hardest remaining game after those five is either Home against San Diego and At the Titans, and are any of those games tough games? In summary, we have an easy schedule. Our defense will dominate and we will win a lot of low scoring games, whether we get eliminated in the Wild Card Round or make an actual Super Bowl run will depend on what the offense does. Right now, Sanchez isn't the problem. The Receivers have to step up, and we have to get ground and pound going. Our skill position players on offense are going to be what determines if the Jets are a 10-6 team that goes out in the Wild Card Round or if we are actually a real player in the NFL this year. I know a lot of people are freaking out about the Jets calling them an 8 win team, but that is BS. We are going to score TD's, the problem will be how many we score. The First Team defense has let up basically nothing against three good offenses. Thats a good sign, the offense needs to get going though. Once again, the offense is going to make or break the season. I think at the absolute worst case scenario, the Jets are an 8-8 team. The absolute worst case scenario happened last year, and you would think that we won four games by the way people acted. We were an 8-8 team with a very tough schedule if people don't remember. This year, we have an easier schedule, I would really be absolutely shocked if the Jets win less than 8 games, the only way I see that happening is if we have a number of key injuries like Revis, Mangold, Sanchez and a few others.
right.your going to have a few rookie mistakes.but your also going to get some plays that only his height weight speed can make. so at the end of the day if he is just a = then its going to pay off. i can see him going for 45 rec and 4 tds easily this year.
I'm thinking about 9 wins this year. Not sure if it will be good enough for the playoffs, but if we get in..watch out.
It's impossible to predict this season because you haven't yet seen even 20% of the offense..Ask again after week 1. BTW, the media gets paid to make fools of themselves.
Too optimistic. Jets get swept by NE and split with either Miami and/or Buff. 8-8 if everything falls into place. I fell victim to the lack of talent last year and had them 11-5. Clearly, I got sucked into the success of the previous 2 seasons. They have almost no offensive talent again this year. The D will be big time, but the O will be brutal. 6-10 to 8-8 at best.
Bust. You guys had your chance with that back to back run a few years ago... While your defense will be decent, your offense will be dreadful to watch...Especially due to shitty WRs and Morono.
Because of their D, I think the Jets are still the #2 team in the AFCE, which appears to be weak this year. I see anything from 7-9 to 10-6 for the green. In my opinion, the FO needs to pick up 2 OL. Maybe AH is better than WH, but who isn't? If the O-line stays healthy, I can see them in the hunt for the WC. One injury, especially to Mangold or Brick and its 7-9. There is no depth. Forget ground and pound, you don't have the talent. They also need to pick up a WR off the waiver wire (Gaffney?) Tebow needs to stay off the field, they should cut him. He blows and only stands to undermine MS when he has one of his slumps. The offensive plan should be to let MS manage the game and not lose it for the D. He needs to be about 2/1 td to int,and learn to throw the ball away. The kid makes terrible decisions with the ball and that must improve if the Jets are to have any hope. He will never be great, but he can be adequate. I think the D will turn the ball over a lot this year, especially if Landry and Bell stay healthy. With a shorter field, Sanchez needs to protect the ball, and come away with at least fg's. The D should be top 6. As of now, I rate the Jet squads as follows: Def.= A, Off. = D and special teams = B- That being said, my prediction for the AFCE: NE 12-4 NY 9-7 Buf 7-9 Mia 4-12 I think Cincy blew their load. I think the WC spots will be won by 2 of the following; the Jets, Steelers or Ravens, the Titans and Denver or San Diego. Don't understand the KC love. Good Luck.
I can see the Jets sneaking into a wildcard spot easily. Not win the division this year though, unless Brady's OL really really sucks or Welker/Gronk both get injured. The D seems to be a step up from last year, and is in serious contention for top D this year if the offense avoids turnovers under Sparano. I was really worried when we had Wayne Hunter at RT, but we've been shown that Sanchez can make throws with a more comfortable pocket. A 1-0 start will make a huge difference though considering who it's against (the Bills always seem to be strong early in the season).
The Jes are winning twelve games AT LEAST this year. I cannot wait until they start 4-0 and everyone jumps on the bandwagon again. Looking forward to bumping these threads
I think they'll win 8 or 9 games, but I guess if I have to make a prediction I'll go with 8-8. 9-7 isn't likely getting a team into the playoffs this year anyway.
U folks can pencil me in for 5-11...... I got a bad feeling about this year. Sorry. Let's hope I'm way off but there are several other teams in the afc that appear to be head and shoulders above the jets.
