They did the same in the first preseason game.

    I don't get it.

Maybe because its the preseason? And you don't want to force plays and come out with an injured starter?

So just go into the season and look like $hit on your first 2 minute drill with the game on the line. Good call Rex and Co. We have seen them talk about how good they look in practice but in game time, they look clueless. Not expecting anything different this year.

I get that, but when you haven't scored a TD on offense, you clearly need the work. It seems like a wasted opportunity to me.

Because there really is NO offense to speak off. Somebody who's played football correct me if I'm wrong, but the two minute offense is essentially a rev'd up altered version of the regular offense. Wouldn't that mean if a team can't execute the basic offense, they'd struggle even more in the 2M?

Its disgusting dude, I had to keep reminding myself these are the first stringers.

If Dustin Keller's really hurt we have nothing to speak of.

It was one of the last chances they had to have the whole first team offense make a push and finally score a touchdown and they just let it go. Don't understand.

2 minute drills are practiced every week. They use it against their own D in practice. Could they have used it today? Yes. Did I want them to use it? Yes. However, you only run certain plays in preseason. For a new OC, you want to provide the least amount of information to other teams. That is why Jets are not running the option with Tebow. They used the preseason to make him pass and learn from his mistakes. But that doesn't mean Jets won't use him in the WC or run the option like Denver did.

Its preseason. We scored 4 times today, and missed a relatively easy FG. I saw enough to know that we have a reliable offense, as long as we have all our players out there.

Lions went undefeated in the preseason the year they went winless in regular season. Pats went winless in preseason few years ago but went on to win the SB that year (I think). Jets went 4-0 with Pennington once, but ended the regular season 4-12 (the year they had like 11 fumbles in the first two regular season games). Thats how much preseason tells you about your team.

Read my post above. 2-minute drill is practiced in practice every week against your own D. What better D would you like to practice it against besides the Jets D with probably the best secondary? I just hope Keller, Harris and Baker are ready to play the season opener. What if we had lost Mangold to a season ending injury in a 2-minute drill? This board would have gone nuts over running it.

I'm not buying that we didn't run the two minute offense because we wanted to avoid injuries. Our starters were still playing in the 3rd quarter! We had over a minute left, three TOs, and a desperate need to score a TD.

The more logical excuse for me is that the CS didn't want to show any tendencies. I respect that and trust the CS, but shit guys, you're not exactly setting the world on fire on O.

Yeah, but who cares? If the Jets lost 1000-0 in each preseason game it has no impact on the season. Showing the offensive schemes they have been putting together all summer in the preseason to make fans happy will make fans pissed as fuck when opposing teams show up ready for them.

Was puzzled myself as to why they didn't bother. 1:16 with 3 time outs. Starting at the 25ish yard line. Come on.

So we threw out Brian Shittyheimer and we still run a 2 yard play when we need 10 yards! Same old Jets... you have to be joking me!

Looking back, I don't mind not running it. Yes it would have been nice to see it, but that;s what other teams are looking for too. I also think they passed because they started the game in a inbetween a normal and 2 minute offense.

The strange thing is that the Jets chose not to try and score at the end of the first half, but they clearly tried to score at the end of the game. To me this just seems inconsistent. Why call three timeouts on defense near the end of the game to put the offense in a position to get a last second TD when you don't use 1:20, decent field position and two timeouts at the end of the first half to try and put more points on the board? I don't care if it's preseason. If you try to win the game at the end (which they did) then you should try and score at the end of the half as well.

In my mind, the end of the half would be have been a good chance to test out their two minute offense. Why not take advantage of the situation and see what the Jets first team could do in that situation?

I was disappointed in that, we could have used a TO and had almost 2 mins but we still had almost a min and a half. Should ahve worked on our 2 min O.
