Maybe I'm just skeptical at this point, but at best I suspect the Jets are looking to gain some trade interest in one of their kickers. And if they succeed, great.

After thinking this over, I think you are right. I'm sure they are having a good competition but I think Westy answered those questions in such a positive way because the Jets are trying to trade one of them before cuts are made.

I could be wrong, it seems like the most likely scenario. Hopefully we get a half-decent punter for it.

This makes me more inclined to pick Folk.

If thats the case, Folk would be at 91% and Brown at 81%. Simple math says... Westy is full of it I'd think.

After the missed FG in last season's playoff game, I had a feeling his days were numbered. Not interested in picking him up. Just pick one of the guys in this competition & focus on punter.

Or, he's taking kickoffs into consideration, because they are pretty important as well.

I agree though, I'm much more concerned about punting. Hopefully we sign the one the Raiders cut.

Actually, the Ravens gave the Giants a huge gift by injuring Gronkowski. Giants members should be saluting Bernard Pollard.

I'd be surprised if Folk doesn't get the starting gig now.

Brown missed a pretty easy fg vs. the Panthers.

Absolutely terrible terrible terrible decision by the Jets. Brown has a great leg on kickoffs which Folk lacks, and Folk has shown us he is not consistent on gimme FGs time and time again.

What the FUCK is this team thinking these days?

It was close enough that you could make this statement for either guy that got released.

It's our kicker. If that makes or breaks us this year we're fucked anyway.

P.S. We should've kept Danny Woodhead.

brown has a better body of work over the course of his career, and affords the Jets defense better starting field position....And I have to disagree with you on if it makes or breaks us comment. How many times have you see teams in a close game and the kicker blows their season? It happens to good teams every year. Kicker is an extremely important position, who often decide the outcomes of games.

Danny Woodhead has nothing to do with this.

And you know who has the best body of work of all? Westy.

By all means, if you know better than him, I stand corrected...

Didn't Folk make like 12 FGs in a row last season?
