If he gets his machismo back. His balls. His confidence. His Mojo. At least, that's the way I read it.
I said this before last year. Wayne Hunter is so bad it almost looks on purpose. Conspiracy man. Saturday's game Wayne Hunter pushed a defender into Sanchez.
- Its only preseason. We all know these games don’t tell the full story. - Tim Tebow. I want to be clear. I think Tebow is a joke. But he can get us to the playoffs. Heres why: Sanchez should not be starting. He is not built for this offense. We spent three years grooming a game manager and we don’t have enough talent to manage a game on offense. We need to be a risk taking offense. Everybody keeps talking about the deep ball being so important. It’s not going make a huge difference in our offense and will likely create as many turnovers and 3 and outs as its does points. We need the deep ball to keep the defense honest and that’s all we can expect. Let’s not get all Al Davis and act like the deep ball will solve other glaring problems. That’s a fallacy. Tebow is a running threat that distracts defenses more than the deep ball. He is actually a pretty decent short term solution for our lack of offensive talent this season. He is like a mini Mike Vick – potential chaos. If our defense is as good as we hope then all we need is someone to move the ball, get points and win low scoring games. Who cares if Tebow has to run like a madman to do it? We only need him for a year or two. We try for TDs but after that - we need points. We need first downs. We need FGs. I believe Tebow can accomplish this.
This is why I wont do 2 shows a night anymore. I basically described the way the Broncos made the playoffs last season – and the way they beat us…with Sanchez.
I hope we have a 60 minute offense because I honestly think it's the best the Jets can hope for. Strong defense and a ground and pound offense that wins games but by (very) low margins.
Tebots are amazing...."Sanchez a game manager??" I think Sanchez last year was 8th in touchdown passing and 2nd rushing TDs. Dumb post
A good O-line will cover up a lot of defficinces. It will give Sanchez time to pass and pick out non elite receivers. A good O-line will open up gaps for the running backs. So i have some faith in the scheming BUT it all comes down to replacing Hunter, otherwise teams are just going to go after him every time and it will be our downfall.
But seriously, I'm agreeing that the Jets are gonna have to get unorthodox on offense to have a shot at the playoffs. And that's WITH having a top defense. Ground & pound is a great catch phrase, but c'mon...this is the NY Jets were talking about. I don't see enough talent there on that side of the ball to see it happening any other way.
LT sucked last year. He had a few good plays and that was it. Greene is fully capable and has been showing more production each year here. RB is not a problem. RT is. I couldn't agree more. There's dumb, and then there's borderline mental patient stupid. Where's Carlos Mencia? I mean claiming that stretching the D won't benefit the offense is well... yeah, it's already been said.
The Broncos made the playoffs last year at 8-8, after losing their last 3 games by a combined score of 88-40, because the Raiders lost 4 of their last 5 and the Chargers had a 6 game losing streak in the middle of the year during which they lost 2 overtime games. The Jets would have to make the playoffs the same way with Tim Tebow. They'd have to squeak in with a mediocre record after their opponents for the wildcard slot had collectively collapsed. They actually have less chance because they play in the same division as the Pats and 8-8 or 9-7 is extremely unlikely to win the division.
