This all starts at the top. Last week I was thinking 8-8 or so, this week I am thinking realistically this team may be a 5 or 6 win team. Yup, only pre-season, but I am just not convinced that there are answers to the problems they have. This starts with Woody, and goes right down to the coaches. Woody Johnson clearly wants to get attention 1st, and win 2nd. It's a subtle difference, but it makes all the difference in the world. Every decision they make is based on this, and it's costing this franchise dearly. I am so fkng sick of hearing about the 2 AFCG games. They were flat out lucky both years. And you know what, they were not lucky enough to win the big game, so I don't give a rats ass. This team is heading backwards, and lets look at how this will play out. Sanchez will be out by week 2 or 3 because he will be ineffective behind this horrible line and with this shit receiving core, in a league designed for offense. Tebow will play, but will face many of the same challenges, and is just not a pocket passer. Team will struggle this year. It will be the end of Sanchez. Tanny will be gone, Rex will probably stay because Woody loves him because of his big mouth, even though he is clueless as a HC, good defensive guy, but clueless as a HC. So, new GM, new QB (draft, FA, Tebow?) Rex will get another year, but with no QB, team will be mediocre for a few years. Everyone will realize Rex is not the answer. New Coach, new QB, rebuild........... And maybe in 10 years, maybe we can be hopeful again. Same shit with this crap organization. And let me be clear, this is not based on last nights game, this is based on looking at the direction of this organization. I still think in this age of offense, and the way the league sets up the rules, it is absolutely fucking moronic to try to be a defensive power house with no offense. If you want to be balanced, fine, but the days of the dominating defense and the get by offense are done. And, they have not even built a dominating defense. They built a good, but nowhere near great defense. Fucking pathetic organization, and it starts with the ass hat Johnson at the top.
Says who? #1 in '09, #3 in 2010, #5 in 2011 and they'll be ranked up there again this season. They're great.
Rex getting way to much of a pass He is as responsible as anyone. Undisciplined team, fighting, penalties at ridiculous clips. God defensive guy, bad HC. Baltimore did to hire him for a reason. Draft picks have sucked since he got here. Offense has been putrid. He's living off of luck In his first two years and his big mouth.
Ummm, the recent SB winners? When you have a bad offense, often times your defensive stats are better than the tem really is. When teams don't have to score on you, they don't always do it in the NFL.
They've gone toe-to-toe with some of the best offenses in the league New Orleans in '09, NE in the 2011 playoffs etc. the Jets D is for real. Leave 'em alone.
This post doesn't even begin to make sense. Don't try to defend yourself either, it's not going to make that idiotic post any better.
These are going to be our guys to start the season, Pass the pop corn. Thanks. No one has any idea what is going to happen once the season starts. I note that the JETS are not the only team in AFC East with Oline problems. Wait for the season. Haven't lost a meaningful game yet this season. Thanks God.
I really hope you are you are trolling or menstrating. It's the 2nd preseason game and 3 of our top 4 wrs are injured. Wayne Hunter and Conley are our only broken pieces. Sanchez is with us at least until the end of next year. Same with Rex. Next year we also have a home Superbowl so Woody wont throw everything away before that. Agreed that it might be a tough year, however.
Holy shit. We're going to have a top 5 defense in the NFL. Again. Offensively, there's some young talent in place that give us the basics of a good offense. The biggest question is how good can Sanchez be. It's too early to write him off, but he hasn't shown fast enough improvement. Hill, D'Brick, Mangold are all keepers. There are other young players at RB and WR (and Tebow) that could be good players down the line and haven't gotten opportunity. We NEED a good QB, whether it's Sanchez, Tebow or someone else. We need a better RT. We also could really use another TE. If we had those pieces, the offense would be able to complement the defense. One more RB or WR certainly wouldn't hurt, but if the other problems are fixed, I think those players would be okay. Defensively, we're pretty set except at linebacker. The defensive line is young and talented, with Pouha the only older player. Except we have Kenrick Ellis right there to back him up. Linebacker: Harris, Davis and Maybin are all pieces. We will need another outside linebacker or two Defensive back: Cornerback is obviously set, we may need some depth, but unless we cut Cromartie or can't sign Revis, we're good at CB. Safety, Landry and Bell aren't young, but Allen and Bush have both shown flashes. At least one of them may be the answer. I'm not happy with some things we've done, but the sky is not falling yet. Calm down.
As stated earlier. The OP is unreadable and ridiculous. D looks very good. O has to step it up and get healthy. Hardly a reason to be slashing your wrists after 2 pre season games.
The problem is woody meddles too much and is more interested in filling seats in the short term, than the long term.
if your oline sucks, your team sucks the year the kendall drama happened should have taught tanny this
Step back from the ledge. We are a decent offense away from being great. How can you say we got lucky in our playoff runs? Both sides of the ball stepped up and played very well. Our franchise QB stepped up and played very well. Our head coach put together some great game plans. Do you consider the Giants super bowl runs to be"lucky", because they had a mediocre regular season? The lions went 4-0 the year they went on to win a grand total of 0 games. Give it a little time.
Nah, don't step back from the ledge. Please jump off. You'll save the rest of us having to add you to the ignore list. That crap looks like a 10 year old wrote it.
