Why do the JETS not have every free agent OT on speed dial right now. They can not kid themselves anymore. RT is the weakest link on the line and that is seriously causing Sanchez and this offense to panic. Santonio Holmes may be out for the preseason but the JETS can't say the offense is not able to score a freaking touchdown because he is not in the lineup. Rex Ryan has been screaming "ground and pound" but unless the O-Line can generate a push on the line of scrimmage and be dominant, which they have not been because of some guy named "Hunter", the JETS are just going backwards. There are still more then capable good OT available in free agency and the JETS need to sign a legitimate guy that can get the job done because Wayne Hunter can not start the season as the RT with Mario Williams on the opposing side of him. Tanny and Rex better see the writing on the wall now because they failed to addressed the most glaring need in the draft and teams will just take advantage of the JETS problem on the right side of the line. I hope and pray that the JETS will sign a OT that will stop the bleeding at RT before things start to get out of hand, because preseason or not, you have to be able to score a freaking touchdown.
What I don't understand is they bring in one broken OT Otah who fails his physical and since then it's been crickets. Why isn't there a parade of offensive tackles coming in to try out for this position. What are they waiting for?!
They are waiting for the 53 man roster cuts. Every RT that can play football is on a team. WH may be the worst RT in the league.. but hes prob just as good/bad as available Free Agents.
What about Kareem Mckenzie, Tony Pashos, or a few other RT's that have been out there all summer so far? Not even a look? Not a workout? Sometimes I get the feeling this coaching staff won't do anything they feel the fans or the sportstalk guys are telling them to do.
Give Damien Woody a call. Even if he has been eating McDonalds and playing madden for the last year he has to be an upgrade still.
I want an explanation on why Wayne Hunter was given a fully guaranteed contact. I'm sure we all saw him continue his turnstile ways against JPP last night. Replace Hunter and our offense would be a ton better. Sanchez drops back and only has 2 seconds to throw, and after a few sacks, he begins to look behind him for pass rushers and not keeping his eye on his receivers.
That's a very good question. What in the world would give MT the confidence in this player to offer him a guaranteed contract at the end of last season? How detached from reality do you have to be to do that?
