Who/ What are you guys looking for in this 2nd pre-season game? I'll be looking for a couple of things. 1. Wayne Hunter's/ Austin Howard's plat at RT. One of them has to step up for this o-line to be good (if both played well, it would also be pretty cool). 2. The chemistry between Sanchez and the WRs/TEs. ESPECIALLY HILL. With all the injuries to the receivers, I don't know how great the chemistry between them and Mark is. If Hill can be that deep threat we have been looking for, it will open up the rest of the field for others. 3. Of Course, the defensive line. I want to see Mo Wilk and Coples getting consistent pressure and stuffing the run continuously. Also want to see more of Kenrick Ellis. Looked ok last week.
Ducasse, McKnight, and Howard impressed me last week, let's see if they can keep it up. I want to see the O-line get after the the D-line.........though this is probably the worst game to watch if I want to see that. I really want to see Wilk and Coples get after their O-line. And I want to see our TEs, any of them, all of them, whatever.......block something.
1) OL working as a cohesive unit. Not sucking, actually opening up holes in the drive blocking scheme (they looked hopeless last week) oh and umm.....not making the QB run for his life! 2) DL- keep up the good work, I want to see a reproduction of last week from Coples, the continued development of Ellis and Mo Wilk. 3) WR/S- Someone needs to step up. plain and simple. 4)LBers- Im a huge Demario Davis fan and expect him to steal some time from Scott this year. Id also like to see some more pressure off the edge. Also want to see Maybin sealing off the edges in the run game.
I'm hoping to lip-read Eli Manning screaming "Goddammitt!....will somebody fuckin' block #98 already!!!!" Giant 1's looked good last week (esp. Manning, Bradshaw & Cruz). Am looking at every unit at this still fairly early stage, but especially the Jet's line play on both sides of the ball. Is Ole'! Hunter and Kerley playing?
Ellis! He is the key to the defense, IMO! He looked good last week, and pushed the double teams back, let alone the single teams. He looked good standing his defender up, and moving down the line in pursuit. I would like to see Sanchez progress with his pocket presence, and the ball come out quick and accurate. I didn't think he looked bad last week. I would also like to see some deep throws to see how he looks there. I would like to see Hill catch the ball, and not with his face mask. I would like to see more of our offensive game plan, but probably won't happen.
a touchdown in full honesty, the d-line im looking at, the safety play, stephen hill, and just how confident mark sanchez looks in the pocket. running game is important too
I want to look for the offense to do something positive . I also was wondering about that rugby guy that was trying out for the Jets . I dont know if he played last week but i wanna see if he can see the field this week .
I'm probably the only one but... Patrick Turner - We need WRs and he has hung around long enough. Do something. Giants TEs - They are carrying seven on the roster. A few should get cut and we need a TE I think. Shonn Greene - Get in going.
I'll be watching: WR's, specifically Hill. D-line, specifically Wilk, Coples, and Ellis. I want to see if Coples can match/exceed his performance against the Bengals. Demario Davis Landry
Joe McKnight, Sanchez, OL, Hill, Coples and Davis. They have to step up in order for this team succeed.
The moment we drafted Coples (to run more 4-3) talking heads have been comparing us to the Giants (the modern 'gold standard' of a 4 man D-line). I really want to see our 4 man fronts do as good (if not better) than the G-men's line up. Last year Victor Cruz killed us with that 100 yard catch and run. I know Eric Smith was not the only culprit on that play but I'd like to see our Safeties play like true Safeties against the run and the pass.
The o-line for sure. I want to see how they can handle the giants front 4. Shonn Greene. I want to see what our ONLY rb can do. Safeties. How they can cover the field and stop the running game.
Simple and easy. Don't care who does it, but I want to see sustained drives by the #1's and #2's, and defensive stops by the #1's and #2's.
