As per ROTOWORLD Cowboys released S Brodney Pool. An old Rob Ryan favorite, Pool was signed to a one-year, $1.2 million deal in March. It was really just a "flier" deal though, as it included a mere $100,000 in guarantees. Pool failed his initial conditioning test at camp and was badly beaten out by Barry Church for the starting strong safety job.
He sucked when he was here too. At least Eric Smith is good in run support and can tackle. Brodney was all kinds of awful.
This kind of makes me feel good about us not resigning him this year. This is why the Jets FO is decent. They are very good at moving guys outta here before they completely turn to shit. They did it with Faneca, Woody, Ellis and plenty more.
