Monday, 12/25/06 8:30 PM @ MIAMI ESPN I was just looking around and noticed this. Now before saying I am a lame brain, "Duh, Hornet........we have been looking at the schedule for a few months, now." I just think it was very bold of ESPN to carry the Jets on Christmas Day, no less, after last year's performance and also given the tremendous mess that had to be cleaned up starting back in Jan. '06. Kudos to ESPN!!!!!!!!
Very cool, watching the Jets beat down the Dolphins would be an excellent second Christmas gift!
Its always a good rivalry, and NY is obviously a huge market. So its not like they're going out on too much of a limb there. Still, it's a great spot for the jets to be in and I was pretty surprised when I saw that on the schedule too.
hmmm, making me wonder know if I can get tickets to the game? am sure it will be a long shot, but that wouldn't be a bad xmas idea. am going to have to lobby hard for that and head down for the game and hang out for a day or 2
plus they have a lot of good promo footage from over the past few years to get the public into watching the game. You can argue but I think the Jets/Miami games are some of the best watched games in the NE. Classic rivelry.
This is going to be a great Christmas!!!!!!!!!! Let's hope we have something to play for and are not on our 4th QB (I don't think you will ever see the QB thing happen again like last year).
I think somebody posted that if the game is meaningless ESPN has the right to change from the NYJ/MIA game to one that has a impact on the POs.
A lot of tix will be available for that game clearly..... Just request for some assistance....my tailgate buddies for 10 years have left and am looking for a new tailgate group to eat talk and drink with...how would you suggest I post this request?...like this or a new thread...or what?
Expected by whom? The experts? ESPN? Come on Blitz, you're a smart guy, do you realize that Dick Jauron is now coaching the Bills? They are not only the worst team in the division as a result of that, they are most likely the worst team in the NFL. Now I know you would argue back and forth with me on the Fins, and ultimately we will probably end up agreeing to disagree, but I strongly feel the Jets are going to surprise a hell of a lot of people this year. It is very easy for the media and the cynics to rip the Jets since they really know nothing about them at this point, and no matter what happens can pull an "I told you so!"
The family has already been notified that my ass will be on my couch christmas night. (They all live out of town so that was my way of getting out of traveling)
The Sunday night games can be moved, not Monday. Jets-Dolphins is always a great rivalry and they have the NY TV market. Plus, even in our worst years we can usually beat Miami at least once. 1980: 4-12, beat Miami twice 1989: 4-12, beat Miami 1992: 4-12, beat Miami 1995: 3-13, beat Miami 2005: 4-12, beat Miami
