Chad was scrambling when he got hurt like so many QBs do, it was bad luck that he broke his wrist. You can't blame every injury on the OL, QBs are going to take hits.

a year later at a reduced rate they got a guard who was nearly as good and we were back in the playoffs. You don't just thropw around money for the sake of throwing it around.

And a year later the line collapsed again and we went 4-12.

And two years after that LG was a hole and we went 4-12.

Just take a look at the list of all the teams that have lost 12 or more games twice in the last decade. The Jets are in that list somehow despite spending as much cash as anybody in that decade.

It's mediocre management that did that. It's mediocre management that has the Jets at 90-86 over the last 11 years since Parcells left town. It's mediocre management that has them at 55-57 since 2005.

That's the only way to look at it.

You want to argue that it's the QB situation that has caused that? Well angels don't float QB's down from heaven for good teams, management goes and finds them. Mediocre management does what the Jets have done over the 11 years.

No, a year later Chad got hurt again, our backup got hurt and we played most of the year w/ a 4th string QB and went 4-12. A year after that w/ a healthy Chad we were 10-6 and back in the playoffs.

We are on that list b/c of QB injuries, don't let those down seasons skew the overall picture. Would it have been better if we were 8-8 in those seasons? it would have made the record better but w/o additional playoff apps. We bounced backed the next season after each poor season. That speaks to the overall talent level of the team.

You don't think that both the starting and backup QBs getting hurt in the same season might have had something to do with a less than good OL? Most knowledgeable fans would look at the OL as the culprit for that from the get-go.

No I don't, you can't blame every injury on the OL. Our Ol was putrid last year and sanchez didn't miss a game. Vinny and Bollinger didn't get knocked out of games when they started that year.

It's silly to blame the Ol for every injury, Chad was an injury plagued player whether he had a good OL or not.

Didn't the Patriots win 11 games with a backup QB when Brady went down?
Didn't the Broncos make the Playoffs last year with a a backup QB?
Didn't the Texans make the Playoffs last year with a 3rd string QB?

Just because your starting QB gets injured doesn't mean you can only get 4 wins in a season.

the Patriots had a team that went 16-0 the year before and faced oneof the easiest scheds in history in 2008.

Den didn't lose their starting QB, they elevated their #2 to #1 so they made the playoffs w/ their #1 QB

They were 7-3 when they lost Schaub

in 2005 we started our 4th string QB most of the year, we also lost Mawae, Curtis among others. In 2007 we had Kellen Clemens start most of our games, that turned out to be a bad draft choice but that happens from time to time for all teams.

Clemens was a great talent, he just wasn't developed properly.

OK, what made him untalented in your opinion?

have you seen him throw a football? seen his mechanics?

I didn't say he was untalented, every player than makes it to the NFL is talented but he wasn't a great talent.

Fuck! Apparently Ducasse hurt his knee today. This would be terrible news if it's serious. Hopefully it's nothing major!

Is it me, or is it a little too quiet on the Coples front?

I'm expecting Coples to have a quietly solid Wilkerson-esque first season. The fact that there's no building up of his role can only be a good thing.

By "make the playoffs" you're implying here that they made the playoffs because of the backup or didn't miss the playoffs in spite of the backup... They had virtually clinched the playoff berth by the time The Muppet went down for the year... They barely beat Jacksonville, and yes, Yates went big vs Cincy but their win vs ATL was due to very strong defense and they managed to go on to lose three straight to end the year...

My point is that, by the time Schaub went down, the Texans were in the drivers' seat for the playoffs and I don't think that the Texans' example proves your point.

I stated what happened. I didn't blame anybody. You should pay better attention. Smith missed the Block, Short hit Chad, Chad went boom.

that injury had nothing to do w/ the OL, it's a weak excuse.
