    WOW. I suppose Kendall is gone too... he counted more on the cap. Or maybe he restructured at the last minute. Either way, I think Mawae should have restructured. I think he's too old to command a lot of money elsewhere.

    I'll always remember him pulling and smashing into people, especially Zach. Thanks Kevin. You were a great J E T S player.

    Mawae was always a favorite of mine too. But he's 35 and Coach Mangini wants to start completely anew with the offense. So it goes.

    i guess he won't be grooming any centers...does any team besides the jets pull the center on running plays?

    Doesn't this mean the Jets are acutally freeing up more money so they can go out and get soem free agents.

    He was a great Jet but don't forget this year's draft is deeeeep in O-line talent. At 35 he just doesn't fit in with the newer, younger regime. Move on Jets!

    Mawae was a great guy on and off the field.I had the opportunity to meet him at Jets camp he signed autographs and took pictures with my kids.He was a class act.He will be missed in more ways than one.Well lets not stop here Barrett,Kendall whos next?

    I will miss Mawae but we need to move on and start fresh. He is also someone that would not help with a new coach because he is very opinionated and would maybe cause some undermining if he is not happy
