I personally like Greene running in the second half of the game. He always seems to get off to a slow start, especially early in the season. Mix it up with Tebow and Mcknight and whoever else makes a name for themselves in the first half and then pound the Greene machine in the second half. Also, thank God Schotty is gone. I really do believe he was the most pressing concern, before even Hunter, with the inability of achieving effective offense last season. We have to mix up our play calling. pound inside, pound inside, then hit them on their flanks with a sweep or pitch out. And vice versa hit outside the tackles, sweep, pitch outside and then have St. Tebow QB draw it right up the gut. We have a lot of weapons and our strategy should be geared to our defensive prowess. We have to be able to pound, protect and eliminate penalties on offense. Finally, when we sucked the defense in, just a little too much, we play-action pass and beat them over the top. Sanchez is more than capable of chucking that ball on the numbers every time. I am excited bc this is the kind of football I love to watch.
everyone starts out as unproven.give these guys a chance to get some reps and i think someone will emerge. we have used way too many draft picks at rb to need a f.a. signing to fill the hole
I would too, but we only have so many roster spots and very little money. If none of these guys step up, we can grab someone in pre season.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E50XHdviz2Q&feature=relmfu I've been watching this game... Despite his stats, Greene is no very impressive to watch.
We've invested a lot of draft picks into the RB position in the past 4 years. It's time for some of those picks to bear fruit. Unleash the hounds!
We can't continue to use SG as the feature back because the offense becomes too 1-dimensional with him back there. Unless of course he has improved his pass catching/blocking abilities in the offseason. If not he should be limited to the change of pace bruiser back used to pound the defense when they know we are going to run it (like running out the clock in the 4th quarter). Otherwise I would love for someone like Powell, McKnight, Griffin, or Ganaway step into the "feature" role.
its hard to look good with ONLY 13 carries and having limited work in preseason games last year. How many rookie RBs, with Powell's very limited opportunities, looked great last year in the NFL? Lets give this 4th rounder some time to do his thing. He might open some eyes and minds!
I believe that Demarco got MUCH, MUCH more work in preseason games as well as the NFL regular season then Powell did. Just sayin.....! Err 13 carries as opposed to 13 games! at this point, i'd rather solve the problem at right tackle. maybe that will solve two problems: can't run where no holes exist.
