Jake Steinberg in particular is raving about Lankster's play over the last few days. From Wiki: _______________________________ Ellis Lankster (born June 3, 1987) is an American football cornerback for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at West Virginia. He has also been a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Lankster played his freshman and sophomore years at Jones County Junior College.[1] He finished his collegiate career at West Virginia University. He also played in the 2009 Senior Bowl. Professional career Buffalo Bills On August 15, 2009, in a preseason game against the Chicago Bears, Lankster intercepted Bears' backup quarterback Brett Basanez twice within a span of 64 seconds. Both turnovers led to touchdowns for Buffalo, ultimately helping them win the game 27-20.[2] Lankster got some playing time in the 2009 season as a cornerback in nickel defense situations, due to injuries to other defensive backs. Head coach Perry Fewell said of Lankster, "we think he's gotten better every week for us."[3] He finished the 2009 season with five tackles.[4] Buffalo released Lankster on the deadline for final roster adjustments in the 2010 preseason, September 4.[5] Hamilton Tiger-Cats Lankster was signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on October 11, 2010. [6] He did not play for a period while learning the intricacies of Canadian football.[7] New York Jets Lankster signed a future contract with the New York Jets on January 5, 2011.[8] He was waived on September 2.[9] He was re-signed to the active roster on October 11.
Lankster had the inside track to make this roster as a depth cornerback and special teamer, so every day he plays well makes it seem more like a lock.
Steiny Jerks off to every single bad player the Jets sign. I guarantee at LEAST half the players he raves about dont even make the Jets roster. I understand that everybody loves an underdog, but this kid is worse than Rex when it comes to building guys up. At least the guys Rex builds up will see the field. Most of the guys Steiny build up wont For instance he ranted and raved about some of these udfa Oline guys saying they would beat out Hunter at tackle or Slauson at guard. Whens the last time you heard about any of these guys taking 1st team reps ? Steiny gets some good info early, but his opinions on players are absolutely worthless imo
Oh also if Steiny is right about Lankster keep in mind that he said "Lankster is a better cornerback than Kyle Wilson" So eitherway this is nothing to get excited about
Yeah I like his love for the team and good updates but you always have to take what he says about a player with a grain of salt. He made Demarcus Ganaway sound like the next coming of Jerry Rice, but I havent heard anything about him from camp other than him being banged up.
"I was just..like ummm..like ummm...i would like..like ummm...i was a...like ummm" I've lived my life by that code.
I play this once a month at least, along with CAN'T WAIT and the grape lady. I almost creamed myself when I found out we picked him up.
Hi Steiny! (virtual wave) ______________________________ Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 Read on a #Jets forum that people think I'm getting too excited about Ellis Lankster. Truthfully, that's not the case. He looks amazing.
100% correct. He's also friends with a few of these UDFAs apparently, so his admiration of them is a little biased.
Hey...I get it and wont trash people about it...but here is a true story. My son has a stuttering problem that he has worked on for a very very long time. His therapist works for a college in my area and knows my son is a HUGE jets fan. Bottom line is that this young man has invited my son and me to the Pats game. Real class act. True story. We just found out this week. Came out of nowhere and I really knew nothing about this guy. Not trashing you at all my friend...just wanted to throw this out there that this guy is someone Im really rooting for.
I heard he was doing stuff for people who stutter. Obviously, he has a bad problem. That's the video you watch, laugh at, then feel guilty about. Stuttering is not fun. That's really awesome he did that for you, hope he can make an impact this season.
