I do understand your frustration. But how do you think they recoup 1.6 billon in stadium costs?

Oh, and NJ taxpayers are still paying debt on the old stadium. Look it up.

Great post. Ive met Woody numerous times and hes a good guy personally just a dumb football team owner whos only in it for the money and knows nothing about football.

$1.6 billion is easily recouped in a stadium wheres theres 16 home regular season NFL games. Do the math. Woody and Maras and Tischs are greedy bastards.

i expect them to recoup the costs. its actually only 800 million for the jets side. i just dont expect them to recoup it in 5 years and then make a shit ton every year after.

i dont know all the numbers but i am sure someone out there knows just exactly how much they made on psls. lets take some arbitrary numbers the stadium holds 82000, there are 27k in the upper deck. so 55000 psls sold. if i remember correctly they started at 2500 and went up from there so even at 5k per they STARTED with 275 million of the 800 right in the first year. so 34% of the entire stadium cost for the jets was recouped with psls alone... and we all know they charged quite a bit more than 5000 for many of those seats.

then we can take the money they make off the tickets themselves. even at 150 a game they are making 12.3 million 10 times a year simply off of tickets. 120 million a year right off of tickets and remember i am only using 150 bucks avg per ticket. thats 600 million in the first 5 years. so after 5 years woody will have his stadium paid off plus 75 million and im willing to bet he wont be lowering ticket prices at that point.

forget about the tv money, the merchandising and everything else he is making money off of. there is no reason for the prices to be as high as they are other than complete and total greed.

and a complete and total disregard for the fanbase which has supported this team for the past 50 years.

he fucked up though and didnt realize that his fanbase wouldnt stand for it. sure most of the psls are sold, not all of them however and the upper deck is a hot fucking mess as nobody wants to sit there forget about pay 100 bucks a game to do it.

we went from a 20 year waiting list for tickets to a fire sale just to get the tickets sold. we went out and made the big splash a few years ago for favre, if you dont think that was a move simply to create buzz i disagree. and now the tebow thing. lets be honest, the jets went and got him because he brings a buzz and puts fannies in the seats. not because of how great of a guy he is or how he will help with the single wing.

so now we have 10% of the total tickets being sold on stub hub and an upper deck and really most of the stadium that ends up filled with ravens or raiders or dollfag fans. which is disappointing.

ill leave the lies, threats and downright doucehbaggery of the whole process for someone else to go over. its just too damn much for me to even get into.

All true in so many ways. There once was a 20 year waiting list for the NYJETS. The new douche baggery of season ticket holders is corporate stiffs who can careless who wins or loses the game. They dont dress in NYJETS gear they dress in argyles and haggars and sneak in pastrami sandwiches and a pickle. Ive seen the fan base of season ticket holders go from real fans there to experience a NYJETS football game to douche bags doing it just to be cool and say they were at a JETS game. They dont stand up and cheer on 3rd down afraid to wrinkle the pants or scuff the hush puppies. I think i'll stay home for now................
