Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Jets are doing running drills. Sanchez took first-team snaps. Greg McElroy took second-team snaps on this drill #nyj First play of team drills: Sanchez play action throws deep for Stephen Hill, who makes a diving catch off Revis deflection for 40 yds #Nyj Tim Tebow lofts a 45 yard td pass to Jeremy Kerley, which was negated by a false start penalty #nyj Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Slauson and Ducasse seem to be rotating in and out at left guard with first unit. #nyj Seth Walder @SethWalder QBs worked on 20-yard routes with receivers, no defense. Sanchez 10/12. Tebow 11/12. Sanchez went 10-15 with 1 INT during one-on-ones. In 11 on 11s, Tebow went 2-3 with a TD pass on a great catch by Jeremy Kerley. Also one scramble for short yds. Rich Cimini @RichCimini Tebow's first play: "Sacked" by Nick Bellore, who was unblocked. #Jets Results of first team period: Sanchez 2-for-3, Tebow 1-for-1, McElroy 0-for-1. #Jets
Seth Walder @SethWalder Tebow was 1-2 in 11 on 11s with a 10-yd scramble. Kerley made a great catch that was called back after false start. Seth Walder @SethWalder Sanchez just picked off by Revis in 7on7s Rich Cimini @RichCimini 7-on-7s: Holmes diving sideline catch on a rifle shot from Sanchez. He and Holmes do a high 5. All is right with the world. #Jets Rich Cimini @RichCimini Sanchez picked by Revis. Looks like he misread coverage. #Jets
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Tebow goes 1-for-3 in 7-on-7 drill. Missed Hill on deep route. Hey, at least it was a spiral. #Jets
On JetsTwit I saw a blurb that Tebow was apparently TAKING handoffs on the far sideline. I would LOVE this.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 7 on 7s: Sanchez went 4 for 8 with INT. Tebow went 4 for 6. #nyj New York Jets @nyjets #JH T.J. Conley with a pair of 60-yard punts.
Jane McManus @janesports Tim Tebow getting a ton of reps today for a backup. Not keeping exact count but, given special teams role, probably out as much as Sanchez. Seth Walder @SethWalder Tebow was personal punt protector for 17 plays. Rich Cimini @RichCimini Rookie G Robert Griffin limps off, receiving medical attention. Maybe just a cramp. #Jets
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Second team period: Sanchez and Tebow both 2-for-2. Mostly short stuff. #Jets
Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Rookie Robert Griffin is walking off the field with trainer John Mellody. #nyj
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Sanchez 3-for-3 in third team period, Tebow 1-for-1. Offense looks sharper than it did in minicamp. #Jets
Rich Cimini @RichCimini Coples jumps offsides on hard count by Sanchez. Hunter very excited; he's usually the guy getting flagged. #Jets
Keep it coming, that's good stuff. I guess it will come more in the full articles but I kind of wish there was more emphasis on how they are playing and less on the completions. Going 3/3 is cool but what type of play was it? How many yards? Who was the receiver? Was it a great move by the receiver or crappy coverage? What kind of throw (i.e. over the shoulder deep, thread the needle through coverage, high, low, etc.). Obviously they can't tweet that much information and can't give a play-by-play on every play...just saying that I think it's more important to know how they are playing and the mistakes being made than it is just the completions. Some of the tweets are nice and descriptive: like the Holmes TD one with the high five (rifle throw, sideline catch, etc.).
Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Kicking competition: Folk 4-for-4 btwn 38 and 48. Brown 2-for-4. Missed 42 +44, made 50 +52. #nyj Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Final 11 on 11 stats from first practice: Sanchez goes 7 for 8 in 16 snaps with starters. Tebow goes 4 for 5 with 2 rushes in 12 snaps. #nyj Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Prelim count: Sanchez 7-of-8 on 17 snaps in team 11-on-11s. Tebow 4-of-4 with a sack in 11 snaps. Sanchez also had pick in 7-on-7s. #nyj
