Its about that time to start drafting for your leagues in the next few weeks...

I always end up doing a handful of mock drafts to kill some time. In this particular draft i started in the 2 spot in a 10 team league, and I lol'd at my results... Player picked, and the round in (). If only it was a real league...

QB - Peyton Manning (7), Phillip Rivers (9)
RB - Ray Rice (1), Michael Turner (5), Mark Ingram (8), Peyton Hillis (12)
WR - Andre Johnson (2), Greg Jennings (3), Mike Wallace (4), Dez Bryant (6), Kenny Britt (11), Stephen Hill (16)
TE - Jermichael Finley (10), Fred Davis (13)
    K - Sebastian Janikowski (15)
    D/ST - Jets (14)

    Order
    Ray Rice
    Andre Johnson
    Greg Jennings
    Mike Wallace
    Michael Turner
    Dez Bryant
    Peyton Manning
    Mark Ingram
    Phillip Rivers
    Jermichael Finley
    Kenny Britt
    Peyton Hillis
    Fred Davis
    Jets D/ST
    Sebastian Janikowski
    Stephen Hill

Manning and Rivers you got great value on.

Turner is a perennial fantasy disappointment.
Wallace has contract issues which may get resolved late and may hurt his production early in the season.

I would argue as a 5th round pick Turner will be fine value. Secondly getting Wallace that late in a league that starts 2 wr and a flex is great, especially with Dez as a backup.

Besides, it's a mock draft where the league gets deleted right after the draft. It was still a great draft imo

Did a mock draft last night from the 3 spot

QB Phillip Rivers (6) Matt Schaub (9)
RB Ray Rice (1) Adrian Peterson (2) Darren McFadden (3) Toby Gerhart (10) LeGarrette Blount (11) Rashard Mendenhall (16)
WR Brandon Marshall (4) Dez Bryant (5) Demaryius Thomas (7) Rueben Randle (12) Stephen Hill (13)
    TE Jermichael Finely (8)
    D/ST Jets (14)
    K Sebastian Janikowski (15)

think it came out alright, love getting Schaub on a contract year as a backup, as well as AP/Gerhart for a 2 and a 10

Went with the rookie WRs for backups because WR is the easiest spot to fill on waivers so I thinik risky guys with upside is the way to go

Schaub is a steal in the 9th round! the guy always puts up good numbers and is excellent trade bait if nothing else!

I would be perfectly content with Schaub as my starter, but would get some insurance due to his injury history (multiple missed games 3 of last 5 years)

Yeah I've always gone with a Rodgers type QB in the past, but with Schaub, Peyton Manning, Rivers, available in later rounds, my plan this year is to snag two of them, because at least one should bounce back, and waiting on QB gives me a chance to put together a much stronger rb group

I like mixing it up between fantasyfootbalcalculator and ESPN. FFC has PPR mocks, which is nice since almost all my leagues are PPR.

I finally tried some auction mock drafts for the first time on espn. I like it and may do it over the regular snake drafts since there is more strategy.

I refuse to pay more than 40 bucks so far for any player, which seems to open up better possibilties for a better overall team IMO.

I did about 3-4 Mocks this week on FFCalculator. I ended up Picking Peyton in every one of them.

I really canĀ“t see me pick a QB up early, when you can get guys like the Mannings, Rivers, RG3, Schaub or Vick in the Middle Rounds.

    Roethlisberger and Cutler, too.

QB is so deep. I understand grabbing one of the studs early since they are pretty safe, but I feel if you pick the right 2 guys late, you could get a stud playing matchups.

After Rodgers, Brees and Brady the QB's get pretty even. Those 3 guys are first round worthy because they will win you a few games by themselves and aren't very big risks for those dud games you will get from the other positions.

Every live draft I end up in tends to see QB's go much higher than mocks. I assume it's people panicking about missing out all the good QB's but I doubt I see a guy like Schaub available so late.
