Hoge said the TEAM not just TT would not make the POs this year. Unless there are 50 some odd TTs on the team you have totally misunderstood his comments
Hoge used Tebow as a centerpiece in his argument concerning the Jets. He's certainly entitled to his opinion but I don't know that he's the greatest source in the world for this sort of thing.
I would suspect he gets a pretty hefty paycheck from ESPN to be a analyst I suspect that there are many NYJ fans out there that have the same fears & maybe even more fears about TT then Hoge has about TT & what effect he will have on us. Really we are arguing over a team that surely will not win the SB this year nor compete even for elite status in the NFL. At the end of this season there will be a huge house cleaning in Florham Park cause the PSLers will be up in arms about the NYJ non winning the SB for 40 some odd years now & Woody will have to do something to placate them
Apparently it didn't scare the 1st ranked pass D in the league either, and they ended up sitting on their asses at home after he was finished with them.
last i heard, tebow threw more 40+ yard passes aginst the steeler in one game than sanchez threw all year long. maybe that's why they brought him in as a backup. put heat on sanchez, and have a guy as the #2 who can actually play, proven. last year, brunell was no threat, couldn't play, and mc elroy was injured. o'connell couldn't play either.
jesus you love timothy tebow. the funniest thing is that he gets all this hype and he's not even close to the best player on the jets roster, let alone the best quarterback on the team. tebow had a lot of luck to bail him out and a great defense with a great pass rush.
Yeah, that defense was really shutting people down before Tebow took over and led them to the #1 rushing attack in the league. That running game helped their D a lot.
I agree with him though. If tebow ever starts for us the season is over and we don't make the POs. I also think its the end for Rex and tanny. Tebow is fine as a gimmick play guy. He,s a HORRIBLE starter.
This coming season will be like many before it. Exciting , stressful ,diappointing at times, very infomative in terms of our new talent. Ya know . Typical Jets Shit.
yawn. Life's not that bad. So you devoted 40+ years of your life to a crappy franchise. Maybe it's time to move on. Either way the past is irrelevant. The present is all that matters. You can't always play the streak.
Sorry champ, totally disagree. I don't see any evidence that the Jets will actually get worse than last year considering how badly the whole team underachieved. Other than Wayne Hunter we had a lot of core guys who just did not step up to the plate. Injuries can always derail the train as they did with Mangold last year but 32 teams in the NFL contend with that fact. The Jets have a very good coaching staff that just jettisoned its weakest link. The Jets have a ton of talent. The Jets have the potential to be a great team. I'd only be surprised if they finish worse than last year.
Well I humbly suggest you immediately begin searching the internet for anti-depression pills that you will need when this season is completed. I really do not think you have sat down & evulated exactly where this team is lacking  I give U a few hints a QB that cannot make smart snap decisions No big play player No RBs LBers that are slower then poo DL that cannot rush the passer Safeties that can not cover TEs or backs coming out of the backfield Ah there is that green OL that is leakier then hell Lastly take into account to my way of thinking ANY year they do not win the SB it is another unsuccessful year so I do not see them winning the SB this year do U?
The offense has a ton of question marks, and will be determining factor whether we make the playoffs in my opinion. New system, Sanchez, LG and RT, no blocking TE, avg RB's, Tebow role, Sparano, Hill.. Will they figure out a way to ground and pound? Will some players step up? I don't know, but i'm excited to see it play out. The defense i disagree with you on totally. They were the 5th ranked D, and only improved. Dunbar and the 4-3 looks is going to produce results. Coples and Wilkerson i think can be cornerstones for awhile. The CB unit is tops in the NFL. Davis is an exciting ingredient. Safeties are questionable. will see what Landry, Bell and the rookies can bring. I expect nothing less than a top 5 D....possibly better. Its too early to focus on Super Bowl or bust. This team needs to work at reaching the playoffs, and then its anyone's game.
