Yeah, he is 32, but wouldn't he provide some options to this offense?

Just think, if we bring in Shiancoe, Benson, Leonard, and Braylon, then we can make sure we never give any of our young players a chance to develop. It's okay, though, we can just keep signing mediocre veterans forever.......

    As per ROTOWORLD

The Patriots will host free agent TE Visanthe Shiancoe on Thursday.
Shiancoe would compete for New England's No. 3 tight end job behind Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. The 32-year-old turned down a one-year, $1.2 million offer from Seattle earlier this offseason. We suspect Shiancoe won't be offered much more by the Patriots, who are obviously deep at the position.

He'd be a good #2 TE, He can block good enough, but I think the real benefit is in the passing game.

If the Patriots want him....I say go for it. They seem to know a thing or two about TEs.

I think NE is looking for insurance or camp bodies. They had PS guys and a DE playing TE due to injuries from before or during OTA's.

Just speculating though, it could be more than that.

Maybe the Patsies will run the TightCat formation this year, an innovative formation dreamed up by Belicheat featuring nothing but Tight Ends.

Shiancoe can't block. At this stage he's a good receiving TE. Rather have Fascano from the Dolfags. If we need a tight end that can catch we already have one in Jeff Cumberland

We have enough guys on this team already with unpronounceable first names, pass.
