That's it , but this is the NBA. When was the last time a superstar didn't get what he wanted? Honestly as a Nets fan I would love for him to end up in BL but Orlando sending him to Houston would be worth it for the pure comedic value and watching it play out.

Also, the Nets need Howard to do a sign and trade...The Rockets do not need to do this so they could go with a 1 year rental and convince Howard to stay after that...

I also think that the Knicks obviously don't want Howard to go to Brooklyn so they agreed to that sign and trade that helped the Rockets acquire more draft picks...

They would screw Howard of his main destination AND get better assets...

Screw Howard while getting the most benefit...They should do it...

I'm also being selfish...I want a super easy Eastern Conference for next few years...So the Rockets need to get this done...

Fair point. I mean HOU could offer Scola and Patterson or Lowry and BK has draft picks. The last two times superstarrs were traded the NBA owned the team (CP3) and there were no other pursuers for the guy (Melo)

^The Rockets traded Lowry to the Raptors for a first round pick...That's the best asset the Rockets have, a guaranteed lottery pick...

It's protection is: Rockets won't get top-3 pick next year, top-2 pick next two years or No. 1 pick the next two. Otherwise lottery pick goes to Houston.

I completely missed that haha. I think Dwight ends up in BK because he is forcing it so bad and BK seemed to end talks with LA who I think could give the most in return

Lol Houston wont convince him to stay. Houston is essentially the same market as orlando.

If we can keep Brooks, resign hump and lopez only to trade them off for more piecess nd still land howard after next season ill take it.

That's what I'm saying but that's not Orlando's problem, I don't know if there is anyway he could block a trade because obviously Houston isn't concerned about him saying F off at the end of the season.

If Houston gets him there's no chance they keep him. Who the hell is he gonna play with in Houston? Toney Douglas and Luis Scola?

Only Dirk and Kobe have no trade clauses. Dwight could try to argue to the NBAPA about something but I doubt he would win.

Would BK be better off waiting for Howard to hit free agency is a good question. If Howard only wants to go to BK, why does BK need to trade for him?

They can't sign him outright...It has to be through a sign and trade...

Nets are on the edge of something big. Prokorov promised a dynasty within 5 years, like 2 years ago.

Prokorov will be a boss in NY if the Nets won 1 ring.

What I like about him is he is not up front and center but he seems willing to spend the $$$ and doesn't care about luxury tax. If only he could send some Russian mobsters to pay Fred Wilpon a visit.....

To be entirely honest, even with Williams and Howard the Nets are a 2nd round out. I think they could make it interesting, but they don't have enough firepower even with Howard in a weak East to go all the way.

I'll put my money on 3-4 seed going out to the Pacers or Heat if this all goes down.

Disclaimer: I would be hoping I am completely wrong for you guys.

If they get the 3/4 seed they are most likely facing Miami or Chicago in round 2 so going out in 2 is a possibility.

If Hibbert is on the Pacers, that becomes tough since they have a legit center also. The Hawks usually frustrate Dwight but they don't have the same firepower around them like usual. Tyson Chandler frustrates Dwight, but the Nets can probably get by the Knicks without Dwight being an all star consistently that series.

    This right here.

Assuming they stay healthy, Id expect a miami/brooklyn ECF with Howard.

All dwight would have to do is his usual reounding. The nets have enough shooters to give NY fits while dwight draws bodies in the paint.

Not to mention deron williams running the point makess them dangerous against anyone as long as the rest of the squad can knockdown shots

    Espn new report says:
Magic opening trade talks with other teams again
Teams are apprehensive to be a 3rd or 4th wheel to help Dwight go to BK
Trade relies on 4 nets players agreeing to be signed and traded
    Hawks are now trying again

On phone so can't link but go go espn then nba section then link on right
