NHL draft tonight on NBC Sports network...Check it out...Alot of deals may go down. With Rangers in the middle of em too
so howd we do in the draft? I'm actually excited about this upcoming season. Trade for Nash and another offensive minded forward, bring up Erixon. Leggo Rangers.
Trade who for Nash? I don't know who the Rangers have got that the Jackets would want, that you'd be prepared to give up for him. Howson was supposedly looking for a top six forward, a goalie, a good prospect and a good pick; now they've got Bobrovsky I imagine we'll see a bit of change to that. The Senators supposedly offered Foligno, Bishop, Zibanejad and this year's first; our problem is that Nash doesn't have Ottawa on his list. He wants a big market ready to win now that's capable of taking his cap hit, which pretty much narrows it down to a field of one - the Rangers. The problem is that I don't see what you've got to convince Howson with, no-one wants to give up next year's first as the 2013 draft is absolutely stacked and the Rangers' roster isn't big enough that letting go of most of your players won't hurt. I'd imagine that at least one and maybe two of Boyle, Dubinsky and Anisimov would have to feature as part of the deal for Howson, I don't know if you'd be prepared to give up two of them plus a quality prospect for Nash but I think that's what it will take.
Rangers drafted guys who are going to need years of work before they see any hype around them. The Flames drafted some kid from high school that no one knew anything about, but apparently has the potential to do great things. Pretty crazy. I dont want Nash, I want Bobby Ryan or Evander Kane The big talk this week will be about Justin Schultz...He is a top 4 d-man that will be in the league for years apparently.
Boyle, Dubinsky, and a prospect not named Kreider would be heaven for Rangers fans. Dubi and Boyle are beyond replaceable.
Really? I can see that none of them in isolation are indispensable, but the Rangers' roster is skinny. You don't have a lot of players, and giving up two top six forwards plus a good prospect in return for one top six forward is potentially going to cause you problems, I'd have thought. FA this year looks to have pretty slim pickings. I think the Rangers are definitely the favourites to land Nash, but I'm not sure that it's the best idea for either party. I grant you I'm biased because I think Nash and the Senators are a perfect fit for each other, but I'm realistic enough to realise that it would need the Rangers to choose not to do the deal for us to have any chance of getting him - and I think that the Rangers would have to be careful how they do it, or they could cause themselves problems.
Steve Zipay @stevezipay Still in Europe, not shocker, but worth an RT @AGrossRecord: Del Zotto and Zuccarello will get qualifying offers, Stralman will not.#
Stralman got qualified. Also, JT Miller showed up to prospect camp jacked. He's like 6'2, 210. Less than a year ago he was 6'1, barely 190.
Andrew Gross @AGrossRecord Re: Stralman. Rangers just clarified. They have (repeat, have) qualified Stralman. There was some confusion in communicating with them.
Stephen Whyno @SWhyno #Caps make it official, announce Adam Oates as new coach. Team won't formally address it beyond statement until tomorrow 3 pm
Couple of my favorite players made it to the Hall of Fame today Sakic & Bure Along with Sundin and Oates
Mats Sundin in on first try as well, which means that if Alfie isn't a lock for first ballot then the whole fucking league is rigged towards those cunts in blue.
Edmonton Oilers @NHL_Oilers The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with Justin Schultz. More details to come. Drats.
