Saw the following article on ESPN New York. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8083090/dbrickashaw-ferguson-says-jets-good-place-tebow "It's going to make a lot of other teams really have to second guess what we'll be doing because we have the advantage of having great quarterbacks, and now we have the opportunity to do what we want with what we have." I just hope they don't pull Sanchez if he driving the ball and has a good rhythm going, just to put in Tebow to run the wildcat for a few plays and get Sanchez out of his rhythm.
If Sanchez is moving the ball well, I think they'll limit the Tebow package... But given what we've seen the last 3 years with Sanchez running the O, I don't think he'll move the ball consistently enough to keep Tebow off the field more than he would like. Can't think of more than a few times that I've ever seen Sanchez in what I would call a "rhythm."
Tebow is the very definition of rhythm-less. He set records for consecutive 3-and-outs. He led the league in fumbles, and 3-and-outs, in only 11 starts. He shits the bed for the first 55 minutes of every game. Compared to Tebow, Sanchez is to football rhythm what James Hetfield is to rhythm guitar - amazing.
How many of those 3 and outs had Tim's first pass attempt on 3rd down? I'd say 80%+. It was so frustrating watching your coach hender him by running on first and second down the entire game until the 4th quarter (crazy how the game always seemed to change in the 4th). Any quarterback would struggle when allowed to pass 6 times in a half... all of which are on 3rd and medium to long. And to point to fumbles when Tebow had one of the best turnover margins in the league as well: a. 17 Passing TD's to 9 Ints - (1.84 to 1) b. 12 Rushing TD's to 6 Lost possession fumbles - (2.0 to 1) c. Overall 29 TD's to 15 Turnovers - (1.93 to 1) He didn't shit the bed until the 4th... he wasn't allowed to play until the 4th. Its amazing everyone overlooks how drastically Denver's offense changed when they had to throw their hands up in the air and say.... fine, go 5 wide empty backfield and have at it Tim.... and he succeeded... yet the next game they'd never learn and it was back to run up the middle on first and second... I'm not here to bash sanchez because I'm a believer of his and I think he'll have a stand out year, and hopefully Tebow will be able to develope behind him on the bench and eventually go to a team that has complete faith in him (something denver NEVER had). I normally bite my tounge when I read the crap you spew about Tebow, but enough is enough. Go back to Denver and enjoy your senior citizen with a neck injury!
can someone point me to the stats website where that three and out stat comes from. I can't for the life of me find it
You sure you want to stick to this ridiculous assumption, or are you just guessing? Lets look at the game that Tebow set the NFL record for consecutive 3-and-outs, shall we: 1st Half: 1st down passes : 4 2nd down passes: 5 (1 sack) 3rd down passes: 6 (2 sacks) 4th down passes 1 The Broncos had 7 possessions, and only once did Tebow throw his first pass of the series on 3rd down. So it's more like 14%, not 80%. You were close though. Maybe you'll be closer in the second half. 2nd Half: 1st down passes : 12 2nd down passes: 10 (2 sack, and 2 fumbles) 3rd down passes: 6 4th down passes 1 In the 2nd half, the Broncos had 9 possessions. Care to guess how many times 3rd down was the first pass play called? 0. None. So throughout the course of the game that Tim Tebow set an NFL record for consecutive 3-and-outs, 6% of the time third down was the first pass play called. 6%. Thats pretty different than the 80% you proclaimed. Nice try though. He led the league in fumbles in only 11 games. He averaged over a fumble per game. Just because the Broncos were lucky enough to fall on half of them doesn't mean shit. If you had a running back that fumbled more than once a game, he'd be riding pine in the CFL. Dont be stupid. Proved wrong with the passes play calls listed above. Just because Tebow couldn't execute for shit doesn't justify the idiotic assumptions Tebow homers make. Peyton Manning was a better quarterback in High School than Tebow will ever be. I will enjoy the shit out of him for a few years. Tebow will be lucky to get 10 snaps a game. Enjoy watching your boy ride pine.
Phaytal, Tebow had 13 fumbles and lost 6 of those , Vick lost 7 and Gabbert had 14 , so how is it he led the league? You love to make stuff up . He had 13 starts and went 8-5 as a starter after the broncos were 7-24 in previous 31 games , complete dog shit . So you shoud be happy he stunk it up so bad you went from worst to winning a pkayoff game after a 1-4 start and the top reciever being traded . Also he did not stink it up against Minnesotta , New England ( first game) , chargers and certainly steelers , so do you exaggerate much?
Hmm, you're right. He was the #2 fumbler. My bad. He led the league in fumbles per game average, being that he played in 13 games, and Gabbert played 15. Thanks for straightening that out.
phaytal glad you had no response for anything else , Its like shooting fish in a barrel debating you.
As far as not stinking up the first New England and the Chargers game, apparently going 11 for 22 for 194 (most in garbage time) and two fumbles against the Pats, and 9 for 18 for 143 and a fumble against the Bolts are considered very good performances for Tim Tebow. Do have any idea how sad that is?
Good point by Te-bonehead Praytal If Denver had let your adored savior Timmy "throw" on first and second down he would have led the league in picks and lowest completion pct along with three and outs and John Fox would be unemployed Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
Let the coaches do the coaching..if they fuck up they will be gone soon enough. Pulling Sanchez to run the wildcat might be exactly what the other team isn't expecting and result in the TD. They will figure it out.
Not sure what you are saying here, because I think Tebow is pretty terrible. But to respond to your statement, Tebow did lead the league in both 3-and-outs, and had the worst completion percentage. To add to that, he was given pass plays on first and second down. He either failed to execute, or scrambled around like and idiot, taking huge sacks, including a sack against the Pats to earn him the longest sack in history. It was like 35 yards or something.
It's quite pathetic, yet amusing at the same time. Maybe he will stay in Donkey Country when his sorry ass team doesn't even make the playoffs.
That's because you're just regurgitating the same garbage over and over. I love how you won't defend Tebow's fumble records -- something solely attributable to Tebow and his ball handling skills -- but you will roll out the whole team's record as proof Tebow did something good all by himself.
I did not mention the second game it was the first and they were up 17 points in that game! how can you say it was mostly garbage time? and you conveniently leave out 120 yards rushing and a TD? phaytal you know how to manipulate numbers bud ! you never tell the entire story.
I have stated my case with logic and facts here it is again because you obviously missed it. please argue against this if you can: Tebow was not the only reason the Broncos completely turned around that abysmal record and ended 8-5 with aplayoff win , obviously special teams and defense were a huge part. BUT without Tebow the Broncos do not go 8-5 and into the playoffs , as Tebow is one of the 3 pieces that were neccessary to get that accomplished (Quinn and Orton would not have had that success running the same offense) defense and special teams being the other two . This can not be argued and is fact. Therefore Tebow deserves as much credit for the turn around as the defense and the kicking game and if not as much quite a bit (he was one of the 3 pieces) . Phaytal can make all the numbers up he wants, other forum members can say he would have led the league in interceptions (which is ridiculous because not throwing INTs was one of his strengths) but it doe snot make it true. What I said is true.
Tebow had 6 INTs in 300+ attempts (includes playoffs). That's REALLY good actually and if you add to the fact that half of of them came in one quarter (against the Bills) , he hardly ever threw interceptions. so please continue to make crazy assertions. it's almost as amusing as a Denver fan being so butt hurt that every single prediction he made of Tebow was wrong that he followed him to his new team to try and be right just once . So yeah not as amusing as Phaytal but amusing nevertheless.
Even if all of this is accepted as fact, it doesn't dispute the fumble issue. The Jets don't gain any benefit from what the Broncos' defense or kicking game did. The Jets don't gain any benefit from what Tebow did on a different team last year. All you're doing is glossing over a statistic that points to a huge flaw in Tebow's capabilities. Unlike everything you talked about, the fumble issue does affect the Jets. He has a ball handling problem and it's much harder to explain how the ball can't stay in his hands is attributable to anybody else. Unlike the team's record, attributable to many players, you can't share as much blame for the fumble stat on other players. You can't blame the blocking or the OC. The whole strategy was designed to play up to his strength -- running -- and required him to have good ball control. Well, he didn't. That's a problem for the Jets because he's expected to play wildcats and option plays where his ball control is also really important. You can talk about how much Tebow has won since he was in pee wee football but unless you have figured out how to make those prior wins attributable to the Jets in the upcoming season it doesn't really matter.
