I am new here and this message board is very well done. Good fans, good debate. That's they way it should be. Some of my best friends are JETS fans and we have a blast busting each others balls. So, fire away at my Pats for losing the SB to the Giants OR perhaps for Tom being a little soft and cushy with his rich wife. How about our poor D. It's all good as both teams have issues we can discuss.
WTF if your problem? This is a Jets board and people are discussing Jets issues. It doesn't fucking matter what team we root for.
Why exactly do you want to discuss Jets issues on a Jets board? What's the pull there? I root for the Jets and have for 40 years now and I basically blow off steam here when I think the Jets headed in the wrong direction. I get a release from that which is not available in any other forum. What release do you get from coming here and posting from the perspective of a fan spoiled almost beyond belief by his team's success? Being a sore loser is not exactly becoming but it is understandable. Being a sore winner is something very different and much less understandable.
On the bold, this what Trent Dilfer thinks about what the Jets FO have done for Sanchez :Trent Dilfer @TDESPN: You could write a book on HOW NOT TO RAISE A YOUNG QB IN THE NFL, and just name it JET We have Holmes and Keller who have now been here 2 years and 3 years with Sancez, and two young WR in Kerley and Hill. If Sanchez just takes care of the ball better, I think we are good to go offensively. Another thing also is that somehow the Jets offense has to take more shots down the field. One of the biggest misconceptions from last year is that Sanchez can't throw a deep ball. He can throw a deep ball, but we need a WR and plays and protection and Sanchez to stand in the pocket to make it happen. A lot of our drives last year were very methodical. Like the one Pats game, we either went 3 and out or scored a TD. We need a big play here or there, something we didn't have last year.
I'm a football fan and I like talking about football with other fans. Is that OK with you? How exactly am I a "sore winner?"
I couldn't give you facts and figures on this one, but imo the problem with Sanchez and the deep ball has been that too often he throws into coverage. That's why the CS put him under wraps. I agree it's not like he's got a weak arm, especially compared to someone like Pennington. But he's not accurate and doesn't see the D well enough to sling it much.
You are a sore winner because you are gloating. We don't need a pats fan to explain how bad this team is going to be or how crappy the Holmes Scott and pace contracts are at this point. Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
Any Pats fan that is posting here as a regular is being a sore winner. You could just as easily be posting on the boards of the team you root for and you should be. You want to add something to the conversation now and then? Fine. You want to live here discussing a team you don't even have a rooting interest in? What's that all about?
Let me show you a cool trick. Press Crtl-T and type into address bar patsfans.com and press enter. Presto! You're on a Patriots board AND a Jets board AT THE SAME TIME! Isn't that amazing? With the internet, it's possible  Just because I don't root FOR them doesn't mean I have a rooting interest. I actively root against them and take great pleasure in watching them fail so I'm just as invested as all of you, just is a different way.
This Pats fan is on the Pats board a few days a week. There are plenty of Jets fan posting there daily. Most of them are real trolls. They add nothing to the conversation and just want to attack you. Make stupid comments etc. I will say however that the posts on this board are pretty good. Lots of good threads to jump into and talk football. As a fan I want to talk football. I do not want to troll and I will not attack anyone. So what's the issue then?
"I actively root against them and take great pleasure in watching them fail so I'm just as invested as all of you, just is a different way." That was funny! I find myself watching the JETS alot (when the pats are not on) and I too like to see them lose as well. I am sure the JETS fan feel the same about watching the PATS! No harm no foul!
Yeah, although I think that slightly happened because defenses could one vs one cover Mason, Plax, Keller (when he disappears) and whatever RB was coming out of the backfield. So he had to force it which is the wrong decision. I also think last year specifically he got antsy and checked down before deep plays developed or the o line broke down, or he realized Plax down field is not like Plax like 5 years ago down field. I think we will see him taking a lot more shots down the field this year for better or for worse
You're right. The NFL should just shut down all the franchises that don't go to the Super Bowl every year. We'll just have the Cowboys and Steelers play each other 20 times a year and whoever wins the most is the champ. No reason any other teams should even show up, so why do they even try to play?
The past doesn't have any influence on the future though. The Patriots have have never beat the Giants in the super bowl, its funny how fans thought they were going to win last year? That has no influence. Just because it has never happened or rarely happened doesn't mean it can't happen. Lebron James never won a finals before, funny how people picked him to win? Its complete backwards logic
That's all true but what's the reason. To think 12-4 is possible this year? Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
I don't know since I don't think they will. But a new offense, aging lb, injury prone safeties and that is why they probably wont reach 12-4 not because of what happened or lack of what happened in their histoey
Pats fans coming in here reminds me of a World War I (II?) story about fighting. German and Russian soldiers crawled out of their trenches and fox holes Christmas Eve to shake hands, share Vodka, cigarettes, song, dance, stories, pictures of back home, etc., then returned to their fox holes Christmas day and proceeded to kill each other. edit: ats_suck:
Haha of course, but not with the logic I was quoting. That logic says the Steelers will always represent the AFC and Cowboys the NFC, no need to play the season and 16 games. Another funny historic stat, I believe the Jets are the only team to lose to a team by 40+ points and then beat them in the playoffs but before they did it, based on this logic they wouldn't have won since it never happened before :breakdance: There are so many reasons to why the Jets will not get 12-4 and none of them have to do with prior historic teams and their success or failure
