That sounds about right. Most of the guarantee was just his base pay, not bonus. So if we release him, we have to pay the entire guarantee portion. If we trade him, the other team takes on his contract as is and is responsible for all guarantees. Jets just have to take one the cap hit for the remaining portion of his signing bonus (which was 6.25m over 5 years). So his cap hit in a trade would be around $5mil I think. Not a bad deal, especially when u consider we wouldn't have that monster contract along with locker room cancer with it next year.
I haven't read this thread at all, but the one on Patsfans has a few people questioning his injury history. Did you all know that Harvin has only missed 3 games in his NFL career? I doubt he'll come to any AFCE team, but god damn he's a beast.
As per ROTOWORLD Vikings GM Rick Spielman stated adamantly Wednesday that the team is not interested in trading Percy Harvin. "We have no interest at all in trading Percy Harvin," Spielman said. The Vikings simply shouldn't. Harvin is easily their top playmaker on offense with Adrian Peterson mending from a torn ACL and MCL, and he's young (24), cheap ($915,000), and a must-have for developing second-year signal caller Christian Ponder. Spielman should still expect to be inundated with phone calls about Harvin. He wants out, and there isn't a team in the league that couldn't use him.
