Everything I've heard from OTA's is that this guy was a hard worker, hit the weights hard, and was a sponge absorbing the playbook. When asked what his plans were during the break his answer was to continue to train and study our offense to try and get a better feel for defending / reading NFL offenses. Really sounds like a guy who has no drive and isn't really self motivated doesn't it? Anyone closer to the situation ( possibly someone who watched OTA's ) have input as to how this guy approached the practices, Definitely sounds like he was killing it to me. I can't wait to see 98 ---> 12. 81 Days to Kickoff.
I do love what I'm hearing about this guy. He has the physical talents to be great. If he can put it all together on the field we might have just gotten the steal of 1st round. I was really upset we didn't get Decastro when Coples was picked but I have grown to like it a lot more.
Everything sounds great so far. I'll believe it when I see it on the field with my own two eyes. They can say whatever they want, doesn't mean much.
Of course. Even if he is doing all the right things it doesn't necessarily mean he is going to put it all together on the field. I'm just happy to hear he isn't the lazy guy I thought he was. His attitude which was his biggest question mark isn't as poor as I once thought.
I plan on getting a doctorate degree this summer. It doesn't mean I'm going to. If he really puts the work in that he's talking about it will probably show up on the field.
If he can't be motivated to play in the NFL, he will never be motivated for anything! I just hope he turns out as good as he sounds - can't wait for the season to start!
i cant wait to see all the analysts who shit on us for drafting him backpedal to their one lone compliment in his scouting report. "well i just dont like this pick, he showed flashes but the jets are taking a gamble blah blah blah" "well i always said he had the talent......"
You are absolutely correct. None of those jerks ever mentioned that the kid had a change of position and several different coaches. They just wanted to be critical. They are all wackos. I trust REX's judgemnt on defensive players! He wanted him and IMO that says it all!
Quinton could be our next all pro, something we sorely need. Both he and Stephen Hill have the athletic potential to be the best at their position, which is a wonderful thing. I'm not saying they won't bust, I am totally aware that they both have yet to prove themselves on the field. But I think that we had the best draft based on pure potential, especially when you throw Demario Davis into the mix. I have very high hopes for all of our top 3 pics, and I think the jets are a developmental season away from being one of the best teams in the league. Next season we really need to address the o-line, and whatever issue rears it's ugly head this season (there is bound to be one).
