They changed GM's after '06 because Ernie Accorsi retired.

I agree with you to some extent about Tannenbaum/Bradway, but that's revising history to make a point.

Um I think he means the fact that the bills have been awful for a long time. Not exactly the sign of a good front office. And then he meant Spiller is terrible and has accomplished nothing. Why don't you have a winning season before you start trolling other boards.

    Mangini's coolest achievements were:
    1) exposing the cheatriots
    2) beating the cheatriots
    3) exposing bellicheat's true sportsmanship (wouldn't shake mangini's hand  that was fucking great  Then Bellicheat pussed up and gave him a hug the next time around, so good
    4) playoff berth
    5) cameo on Sopranos

    Mangini biggest failures:

    1) going back on everything he did to expose cheatriots and bellicheats true colors. ie expressing regret for exposing them.
    2) green wind pants
    3) penguin waddle
    4) lisp

Thank you for exposing Super bowl champion patriots*

Glad you are no longer a member of the New York Jets.

Those are both true. However, those were the old front offices. This one has been outstanding.

Only someone who doesn't watch the games, can't look up the stats, and doesn't want to believe the truth would come out with stuff like that.

You could look at it this way...we wasted the 2008 sixth overall, then reduced salary and grabbed the 2009 11th overall, who turned in a 6 sack performance last year.

    You guys...got nothing.

The Bills have gone 11-21 under Nix and Gailey

Also what cornerstone players have they drafted?

    2010

CJ Spiller--Not a starter yet--Already wasted two years which is huge for a RB
Torrell Troup--Buried in the depth chart
Alex Carrington-Buried in the depth chart
Marcus Easley- Buried in the depth chart
Ed Wang- Not on active roster
Arthur Moats- Buried in the depth chart
    Danny Batten- Off team
    Levi Brown- Off team
    Kyle Calloway- Who?

    2011
Marcel Dareus-Very good his rookie season, but did not put up Suh numbers and was the #3 overall pick (kind of hard to screw up)

Aaron Williams-Did not start last year, but will get more playing time this year--We will see

Kelvin Sheppard-Started last year, but did not set the world on fire. Bills LB corp is still very thin

    D'Norice Searcy- Who?

Chris Hariston- started because of injury

    Johnny White- Who?

    Chris White- Who?

    Justin Rodgers-Who?

    Michael Jasper-Who?

    Free Agent Signings

    Shawne Merriman?

    Nick Barnett?

The Bills best players have been UDFA like Fred Jackson, David Nelson, Stevie Johnson and Ryan Fitzpatrick who were all found by the prior regime.

The only thing this current Bills regime has done is give Mario Williams a $100 million dollar contract.

Mike Tannebaum and Rex Ryan have won 32 games in 3 years if you include the 4 playoff victories....

-Dareus didn't put up Suh numbers huh? Tell me, did Suh play the role of run stuffing nose tackle in a 3-4 defense, or was it more of a penetrating 3-technique in a 4-3? I'll let you decide. Dareus, in his rookie year, still put up 5.5 sacks as a nose tackle. I'll let you find the last rookie that did that from the nose tackle position.

Kind of hard to screw up the #3 pick, huh? What do you have to say about Tyson Jackson, Gerald McCoy, Vince Young, Braylon Edwards, Joey Harrington, Gerard Warren, Akili Smith, Andre Wadsworth, Heath Shuler, Garrison Hearst, Sean Gilbert, Bruce Pickens... good one.

-Aaron Williams, Justin Rogers, Chris Hairston, Kelvin Sheppard and Da'Norris Searcy all started games last year and have been quality players so far. In fact as of right now, from just that draft, Dareus, Williams, Sheppard and Hairston are all starters.

    Wrong.

Buddy Nix has been able to find talent and see quality starters when other teams couldn't. He's signed free agent starters off the scrap heap with guys like Kraig Urbik, Erik Pears, Dwan Edwards, Scott Chandler, Kirk Morrison, Bryan Scott, Chad Rinehart, and turned them into quality starters, and also found undrafted guys that start or contribute in David Nelson, Donald Jones, and also signed other free agents like Nick Barnett, Mario Williams, Mark Anderson, Shawne Merriman and others. Nix has re-made this roster from the ground up.

Buddy has locked up and kept around important core players on our team such as Stevie Johnson, Fred Jackson, Fitzpatrick, Kyle Williams, and Erik Pears.

Further, Gailey has gotten great production with holdovers from the other regimes that had never before produced. Fitzpatrick is now a decent starter at QB, Fred Jackson is one of the best running backs in the league, Stevie Johnson is one of the top receivers, George Wilson is a beast of a safety, and Drayton Florence was brought back to life some. All of those guys (with the exception of Florence) were either 7th round picks or were not drafted at all. What Gailey has done with the little talent he's had is remarkable.

Color me unimpressed- Love how you left out the ENTIRE 2010 draft!!!! You drafted a ton of 3-4 defensive player that year and then scrapped the entire system after 2 years!!!

Nix had a TON of high draft picks to work with in 2011-- Dareus was #3 and Williams #34-- Both are achieving expectations, but not exceeding expectations for their draft slot.

Dareus was a run stuffing DT for a team that couldn't stop the run.
Gailey is 11-21 and has already fired one defensive coordinator.

Gailey is already on his 2nd defensive coordinator, and is 11-21 in two seasons. I think he's a good offensive coach, but if he doesn't deliver in this year in Orchard Park this year he is in trouble.

I like and respect the Bills--You guys have a great fanbase that deserves to be optimistic. However, you also have to be realistic and let things play out before you crown a guy like Nix.

Also you couldn't screw up #3 overall pick goes you couldn't screw it up in the 2011 draft

    Top 6
    Cam Newton
    Von Miller
    Marcel Dareus
    AJ Green
    Patrick Peterson
    Julio Jones

Couldn't go wrong with any of these guys--

Dareus is good, but the Bills could have traded back and gotten JJ Watt or Aldon Smith

First of all, we drafted all players that year who played in a 4-3 defense, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.

I left out that draft because the jury is still out. Spiller has been a great asset for our offense, but after him, Troup was out for a year and a half and we haven't and won't likely see much from Carrington as he is behind Dareus, Williams, Mario, Anderson, Kelsay and Merriman. Easley looked like a great pick last year until his football career was almost over after doctors found a rare heart/respiratory condition. He is trying to come back this year, we will see if he can play. Moats has been a quality pass rusher in nickle and dime situations. Batten missed his rookie year with an injury. There is just not much to write about them until at least after this year. This is the year a lot of questions should be answered about these guys.

Wow, forgive them that they didn't EXCEED their draft slot in their rookie years LOL.

I agree with this. Bills fans acknowledged 3 years ago that we were going to completely tear the operation down, and in order to rebuild, we would not win for 3-5 years. We are expecting wins this year.

Nix's legacy was well established before this recent stint with the Bills, and even if we tank, I dont think it effects it.

Nix had a big hand in the Bills dynasty in the 90's when he was one of the head scouting guys. We had some outstanding drafts. Then, he followed John Butler and A.J. Smith to San Diego. After Butler died and Smith became GM, Buddy was in charge of the draft. He build the chargers into legit contenders year in and year out with his drafts, responsible for talents like Drew Brees, LaDanian Tomlinson, Shaun Phillips, Nick Hardwick, Shawne Merriman, Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson, Darren Sproles, Louis Castillo, Igor Olshanksy, Antonio Cromartie, Marcus McNeill etc.

After Nix left to come back to Buffalo, AJ Smith had to run the draft. His 1st round picks since then were Craig Davis, Antoine Cason, Larry English, Ryan Matthews, and Corey Liuget.

Now he's back remaking the Bills. Nix has been crowned for his career, irrespective of what happens now, IMO.

Nix may have had a big impact in San Diego, but history will credit Marty and AJ for those drafts. Nix legacy will be defined by what he does here in Buffalo.

Tom Donahue was a great scout in Pittsbugh--How did that work out for y'all?

Very few college teams actually play straight NFL 3-4 base defenses.

Troup was considered to be a 3-4 NT and Carrington a 3-4 DE--Jets were rumored to be interested in both. That draft looks terrible dude--If you pick a RB at #9 he better be Adrian Peterson.

I think the FO made a NYJ franchise changing decision this year. Sparano, the rest of the coaching staff and FA and the draft. Kudos FO!
