After last weeks game all the darksiders were wringing their hands, crying in their towels and saying the sky is falling, we are gonna be 1 and 15. I guess after last nights game we actually will win a few games. I guess Mangini does know a little football after all. Today the sun is shining for us Jet fans. Allentown Ernie.
I just ordered my plane tickets and hotel reservations for SB week. I can't wait, I even put in for time off for the parade..
So what you're saying is that it is safe for RobA to come out of his cave and begin assembling his disciples?
Well, it used to be bigger, but then they closed all the factories down. After that, it was hard for many of the people to stay. Sad story really.
Allentown Written by: Billy Joel Well we're living here in Allentown And they're closing all the factories down Out in Bethlehem they're killing time Filling out forms Standing in line Well our fathers fought the Second World War Spent their weekends on the Jersey Shore Met our mothers in the USO Asked them to dance Danced with them slow And we're living here in Allentown But the restlessness was handed down And it's getting very hard to stay Well we're waiting here in Allentown For the Pennsylvania we never found For the promises our teachers gave If we worked hard If we behaved So the graduations hang on the wall But they never really helped us at all No they never taught us what was real Iron and coke And chromium steel And we're waiting here in Allentown But they've taken all the coal from the ground And the union people crawled away Every child has a pretty good shot To get at least as far as their old man got But something happened on the way to that place They threw an American flag in our place Well I'm living here in Allentown And it's hard to keep a good man down But I won't be getting very hard to stay And we're living here in Allentown The song is actually about the steel industry centered in Bethlehem, PA, but Joel was afraid that people would think that it was a religious song, so he made it nominally about Allentown, which is not far away.
Ever year of Bethlehem steel? I guess it was one of the biggest iron/steel producing cities in the world. Bethlehem is the next town over from me.
I can see us going 15-1 now since we've beaten the All Mighty Redskins without our HOF QB Chad Pennington.. :rofl2:
Glad your onboard. Where do you think they will start the parade, I was thinking about starting to tent out now...
