We have two. Why stop there? Maybe we should just outfit the entire special teams with 11 Ks. Then we can play some serious field goal kicking. Imagine all the kicking! :breakdance: I wouldn't mind bringing him in for competition. Can't hurt to bring in extra competition and pick the best.
Errr. Folk has been near the bottom of the league in FG % the past 2 years in a row. Longwell is better but not much. That means in our weather he's probably just as bad
Regardless of him kicking in a dome, Longwell is a great kicker, while Folk is ass. Unless there is an injury, there is no reason why we shouldn't bring him in. No hard feeling Josh Brown.
Worth a look? Yes. Hold your breath? No. Longwell's turning 38, missed 6 of 28 FG's last year, and cut him in favor of rookie Blair Walsh.
I doubt he's interested in joining a three man competition, but I'd love to see if he's got anything left.
I'd bring him in for a look...what can it hurt!?! I, for the life of me, can't believe how much mediocrity the Jets have had in recent years with kickers. They are such an important part of the scoring game and in a ground and pound (G.A.P....couldn't help myself) offense they are absolutely, 100%, a necessity to have an accurate one. We should do whatever we can to get the best kicker available in.
While I agree with U but RR is one track pony D only & should be a DC not a HC for not doing what U described
Pimlico or Belmont? Longwell would be mediocre and you have to consider if he has the leg for kickoffs.
