Is anyone interested in starting a movement to boycott this crotch of an attention whore? I mean, he basically single-handedly created the entire Revis is considering holding out BS a week ago which he derived entirely from him saying "I don't know." I don't see how having a journalist making negative stuff up helps our team, sheds light in a positive way for us as fans, or helps keep down the distractions. A few hundred fans can make life miserable for this mental midget. Also, I know he is on this board as this is where he gets most of his "scoops" since like 2004. That doesn't bother me though, he's too stupid and lazy to do anything about it.
Hate this guy. I don't think a boycott would really be useful. I think we need the address of an ESPN exec and plaster them with remove Crimini letters. Post it here,ESPN, other Jet Forums. Maybe that would do something?
Those are exactly the things we can do. We can hound ESPN until they start coming down on him to stop insulting the fans.
I know people often feel powerless to do things, but really we have a forum of hundreds who love this team, why not take it to him? Let's make him the story. Let's see how he likes it when the National news picks up on his crappy reporting and made up crap he uses instead of real like...journalism.
I stopped following him on twitter a year ago and stopped reading his articles on ESPN about the same time. Guess what? I still love the Jets and still get all news/info just as quickly as everyone else. Highly recommend turning your back on this dbag, works great for me.
Love Cimini he writes great articles and keeps me aware of whats going on with my gang green. EDIT:Cimini sucks
OK, lets get a "Remove Crimini!" template and all send it to.... ESPN.com George Bodenheimer ESPN Plaza 935 Middle St. Bristol, CT 06010 I've searched for an email but it's tough.
I like your enthusiasm but he doesn't specifically cover the Jets. We don't have to pay attention to him, meanwhile Cimini is constantly everywhere as a Jets beat writer. Major difference. Plus, Cimini causes problems with national coverage because of the respect he gets from covering them.
The problem is writing letters would only strengthen his position. If people are talking about you, you're doing something right. A sports writer's worst nightmare is that nobody's paying attention.
I work as a media specialist. I have learned to read the media like some people do weather patterns. This skill started in college almost eight years ago about the same time I started using this forum. At that time I noticed this putz and other journalists gleaned their topics directly from threads and conversations on this forum. Nowadays, many dipshit journalists like Cimini get their news from fans. They are way too lazy to actually think for themselves. Cimini makes stuff up when he doesn't have anything else to say. Where do you think he goes when it's a quiet news week? Not a big deal really, but the problem is this weasel uses his privileged position to inflate his ego at our and our beloved team's expense.
If you write the offices of ESPN no one knows but ESPN. Even if it does go public, you don't think having him exposed as a shitty sports journalist and a hack will have a negative impact on his career? Or maybe you're right and he gets promoted out of the position to hang with Skip Blayless and either way we win.
People want Jets stories year round. Unfortunately a lot of times of the year, there really is no news or even a place for reporters to go to get news. So yeah, I think Cimini is just speculating a lot. What I am not a fan of his his constant little digs and jabs for the team and Rex.
There has always been a most negative NY sports guy covering the Jets at least part time since I started paying attention to the coverage in the 70's. Cimini is not the most negative guy right now.
Sky is blue, water is wet and Cimini is a douchebag. What else is new? Or are you new to the total douchebaggery of Rich Cimini? Guess why BSPN hired him in the first place?
I also like my enthusiasm. I didn't think we were being serious with this thread, but now that I know everyone is serious about this, I will support it as a member of JetNation.
