New York Jets OTAs: May 22-24 and 29-31, June 4 and 6-7. Minicamps: May 4-6 (rookies only), June 12-14. Also a useful fact from another thread in case you missed it:
Here's Cimini's latest tweet from the minicamp. I have a feeling that Sparano is going to be a great leader for the offense. I think he's the type of guy that if he senses there's an issue between players, he's going to deal with it quickly and make sure things don't linger. I think he'll command more respect than Schotty too.
RichCimini Quinton Coples plays bigger than you'd think. Looks to be more power rusher than speed. Maybe that's why best production came as DT. #Jets 3 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite KristianRDyer Hayden Smith just had a nice jumping grab over the middle on a pass from Dan Dillela. #NYJ 8 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite JennyVrentas Jets now in team drills. granted he's going up against a bunch of no-names, but at least he's dominating the guys he's supposed to ... edit: oops - meant to add that to the previous post, not reply to myself. lol.
Win the matchups that you're supposed to win. Something that has eluded this team for a few years now
Per GotSportsBlogs: Highlights of NYJets first day @FlightPhase (John Grffin) n Coples flashes of brilliance, @StephenHill diving grab, n Adams break up pass against Hill. John Griffin could be a nice sleeper at the RB position...
JennyVrentas Jets gave Coples 10 DVDs of their defensive front vs. '11 opponents. He watched it all in 5 days. "A part of being great," he said.
Does watching a bunch of DVD's really mean he's NOT lazy? I mean, I don't buy into that shit to begin with but I don't see how watching a bunch of DVD's means you're not lazy. I'd love to watch 10 DVD's about football in 5 days.
These 3 are great. ''FINISH HIM AUSSIE!" - I'm imagining Sparano doing the voiceovers for Mortal Combat as Hayden Smith cracks the guys back in half and rips out his spinal column...
