Absurdly productive, led FBS in receptions. 5'11, not really fast, but the last WMU receiver who was really productive was Greg Jennings...
That's the idea. Create competition. It became clear by the end of last year that the Jets had work to do on their WR corps long term. Jackson/McKnight/Payne/Riley/Schilens/Turner & now White. Are likely battling for 2 active roster spots & 1 maybe 2 PS spots. Should be fun.
If he can develop more as a punt returning, he will give Kerley a great fight for that. White can find a role on the team.
I'm not so sure about that. He'll need to earn his spot among the aforementioned, but he has made strides since joining the team. In fact, I'd say he's the favorite to land the #4 spot followed closely by Schilens
From: http://ogdraft.com/2011/11/jordan-white-scouting-report/ "Tremendous pair of hands. Can snag passes away from his frame with ease. Has great concentration and will rarely drop easy balls. Doesn’t let balls get into his pads and does a good job of attacking the football. Has great body control as he’s made some spectacular catches throughout his career. Fearless and will work over the middle showing that he can consistently hang onto the ball when being hit. You don’t catch nearly 300 passes in college and not have great hands." Doesn't seem like he'll be getting much YAC but as far as 4th receiver maybe he does have a chance. When opposing teams go nickel or dime, he seems to have a knack for finding soft spots in zones at the college level. Plus the great hands make me hope he can double as punt receiver.
Shades of Chrebet? Kid appears to catch almost anything and doesn't care about the damage done while making the catch. Like him.
Dude looks like he can ball and his YAC were good. Western Michigan is where Green Bay got Greg Jennings from. Suddenly our WR corp is crowed but I can see him being stashed on the practice squad.
You watch his film & he just has a knack for finding holes in a D & catching the football. He's cut out of the same mold as Cotchery & perhaps Wes Welker. He appears to love working the seam & is fearless coming down. If he competes in training camp like he does on game film, he's gonna be a tough one to cut.
