Here is a link to a pretty good copy of the Parcells/Polian big board. http://www.patspulpit.com/2012/4/25...12-bill-polians-and-bill-parcells-draft-board Coples is far and away the highest rated DE. Fire away.
I noticed that as well, but look at where Irvin went. It only takes one team and this was a board put together by 2 old timers.
This is sort f the reason I'm on board with this. I think he was without a doubt the highest rated player on the team's board and that's why they got him. Jets just drafted BPA and played the draft- dude was considered a top 5 pick after his junior season and he fell into our lap at 16. Excited to see him work with Dunbar on the line with Wilk, Pouha and hopefully sooner than later Ellis. This makes me want 4 man fronts VERY often as I think we can generate true pressure with these four maulers.
I can't confirm this, but Parcells might actually know less about football than the rest of this forum combined when he dies. Till then... After some thorough study I'm getting ready to admit that I underrated Mark Barron. Mainly I want to bring attention to some of the sick, absurd value that's just lying around right now once again. Stephen Hill is right where he should be in my mind on that board. Just under Floyd who is not all that far off from Blackmon himself. There's no real reason this guy couldn't/shouldn't be dynamite...wtf was everyone doing on that one? Martin. Glenn. Adams. Look at fucking Upshaw just sitting there. Just above Hightower. Above Ingram for Christ's sakes.
Stephen Hill IMO has the most upside out of any WR in this class and fits this teams needs perfectly. Let me ask, what do the Jets need at WR? Speed, height, large catching radius, redzone threat, run blocker. Who fits that perfectly? Stephen Hill. I dont think he’ll be there, but he is one guy I would not mind trading up for.
Streeter has absolutely insane measurables. 4.36 40 at 6'5" 219. He's raw and will not be ready to go right away. He has injury concerns and is going to need to add a bit of muscle. He's a real homerun threat though if he gets it together with some good coaching and hard work in the weight room. I'd much rather have him in the 5th round than anybody we could possibly get before that.
He was my backup option if Upshaw fell through. Tanny's "striking distance" comment is pretty telling that the price was too steep to get our hands on Upshaw when it came down to it. In hindsight, Tanny chose the more conservative and probably prudent course of action. Stephen Hill will step out onto the field the first week and probably be the biggest offensive weapon that we've had on the team since Keyshawn. With any luck at all, he should turn into a bigger weapon than THAT within 2-3 years. Tanny was able to address OLB creatively and dynamically getting a kid that can run with the TE's and replace Bart Scott long-term while contributing on special teams immediately as well. The first two were desperately needed, so I think this works out at least as well as Upshaw would've if not better.
