I've been asked to write a Jets Blog for a major NY sports stations website. Just curious what the current Jets fan opinion is of Chad. Hoping to base my first article based on these results.
Here, let me steal some of his Doofus Thunder: noodle, fangster, noodle-arm, al dente, :drunk:  :rofl2: :breakdance:
Gotta go with Chad. He's the leader when the O is on the field. After all he's been through - he's tough as nails (except for the right shoulder of course
I like Chad but unless we are going to resemble the Packers of the 60's, we are never going to win a SB with him.
I think that WITH Chad, we're at best, an average team in a parity driven league. Nothing special by any stretch. I don't think he has what it takes to get us to a SB. He can manage a game, but cannot dominate one. He can run the short to midrange passing game, but strikes fear in nobody. He can run, but he's not elusive nor can he throw very effectively while doing so. Chad with Hackett was a boring offensive tandem that Chad flourished in. He hasn't done near as well since. Injuries could be one reason but alot of us doubt he'll ever be more than a short range passer.
Jets fans seem to have a short memory.. The guy risked his career for the good of this team & that should be commended. It's a shame what has happened to him since that run in 02 but only a Jets fan could be anti- Chad..
I'm not anti-Chad my any means, I just don't think he'll be able to play well enough over the course of the season to be competitive.
Everyoje should be pro Chad, but i think Clemens is our future and has a chance to be a great QB. He should also have a very good line in the future.
"Pro-Chad" and "anti-Chad" are ridiculously loaded terms. All of the people saying "no one should be anti-Chad" seem to be interpreting "anti-Chad" as being "I hate Chad and don't think he did anything good for the Jets ever." A much more sensible question is "Do you believe Chad can be a successful starting QB for the Jets?", which is very different. That's the question winston, Cman, and Tony answered, and I'm with them - I doubt that Chad can do much more than throw dink and dunk 10 yard passes any more, I think he is one hit away from going down again, and I therefore do not think that he is the answer at QB for the team. That doesn't make me "anti-Chad" any more than I'm "anti-Joe Namath" (I don't think he's the answer at QB in 2006 either).
i really think chad could have been(still could be great) i just think that unless he can stay healthy and take this team on his back to a decent season than the jets may decide to move in another direction this guy is a winner though...the only time i've seen us blown out with him at qb was against the chiefs last year(and he cleary wasnt 100%) i like him b/c i always feel like we stand a chance even when we are down a bunch or playing a much better team chad is definently my favorite player...he is the ultimate underdog(just like the jets) i'd love to see this guy get a ring(even if its not with the jets)
