I don't see the big deal of contacting him. If he somehow drops below the bucs we should make the move up to get him

This is common procedure that happens every year. We probably contacted multiple top guys last year as well.

I wouldn't think of it as that big of a deal, although interesting.

The Jets have greater needs than running back, but Richardson is the No. 1 player on their draftboard, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported.

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-contact-trent-richardson-fueling-speculation

"General manager Mike Tannenbaum, who traded up in the first round in 2007, 2008 and 2009, said he's open to moving up and down in Round 1. To get up to the fourth or fifth spot, it would take a substantial package that probably would include next year's first-round pick.

In 2009, the Jets jumped from 17 to five, taking quarterback Mark Sanchez. But they received a sweetheart deal from the Browns and former Jets coach Eric Mangini, who received the Jets' second-round pick and three players -- Kenyon Coleman, Abram Elam and Brett Ratliff."

    I live in tampa.

Richardson is not making it past 5. No way in hell.

Id be in shock and thered be alot of broken tvs down here if that happened

If the bucs miss on richardson they're going with Keuchly. They've needed a MLB since Brooks left

With all the holes we have, it seems like a crazy thing to do. However, if they can work out a deal that doesn't completely purge them of picks, then I am OK with it. And if they can package Tebow as part of the deal, then all the better.

If the Jet's want Richardson they will have to trade with Minny.

IMO, it will take #16, Rd 2, Next year's Rd 1 and at least Next year's Rd 3.

That's a lot of to give up.

I actually was thinking about that yesterday. While I am not a proponent of trading Revis, if they don't want to deal with his contract, they could trade him straight up for a top 5 pick and still keep their first round pick. (and throw in Tebow....I'll keep throwing that out until it happens).

Revis is untradeable for 2 reasons. He would incur a lot of dead cap space on us this year, and he's Darrelle f**king Revis. Don't trade your best player for a prospect

Jets Contact Richardson For His Info

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...d-jets-check-contact-info-of-trent-richardson

    This fits the pattern:

trading up for someone they think will be awesome that's Tanny's m.o.

Tanny and Rex know they need to win now they don't care about future picks

Richardson is regarded as probably the safest high pick in the draft with least bust potential I'd grade him higher then the 2 QBs QBs bust at an incredible rate

he fits the ground and pound game and the move they made to get Tebow in here

and the worst case scenario their interest forces the Rams to move up for Richardson and they could then always make a trade to get Steve Jackson to help with the ground and pound attack

    T. Richardson is an amazingly talented RB who I'd love to see on this team.... but, we'd have to give up way too much to trade up and get him. Boo.
