100% agree, it all boils down to whether he can improve. I argue only that he could improve, not that he will. Who knows, not enough time past yet. I think release time is an argument for very good vs. great QB(we aren't anywhere near that point). There are many other issues that can be corrected prior to that being THE issue to work on....also no offense was taken.
You said something important... "There are many other issues that can be corrected prior to that being THE issue"... Tebow has many issues. And Sanchez has many issues too but he is ours and far better as an NFL QB than Tebow is. Sanchez is a better "raw speciman" than Tebow is and has proved it. And thats what makes the Tebow trade all that more puzzling. I hate the trade, not the guy.
We agree that they both need work, but disagree that Sanchez is a better QB, much less a far better QB. If you look at the splits there really is no seperation between the 2. I still don't think Tebow should start, but mostly because I think that is what is best for Tebow. I sure as hell don't think Sanchez is a better raw specimen especially considering that after 45 starts he has stats largely comparable to Tebows after 16 starts. Sanchez either needs to step up this year or my guess is he is collecting splinters next year because 4 years is all the time you get to rise above mediocre in this league. Next year needs to leave no argument as to whether Tebow could do better. 2:1 TD to INT at the minimum, 85 passer rating at the minimum. You have the tools to win the superbowl, he just needs to step up and get you there I don't know if you have looked at profootballfocus.com or if you have what you think of their analysis, but their analysis of Sanchez last year is pretty telling that he needs to improve drastically
And the story did make it!! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...stball-to-workouts?module=HP11_headline_stack Jets wideout: Tim Tebow brings fastball to workouts 14 By Dan Hanzus NFL.com Writer Published: April 25, 2012 at 11:57 a.m. Print If the Jets end up using an offense that features passes from both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, receivers must prepare themselves some fastballs mixed with changeups. Jeremy Kerley, currently the No. 2 wideout on New York's depth chart, has begun working with Tebow and notes a stark difference in the deliveries of the two high-profile QBs. "Different than Mark, different than Mark," Kerley said Wednesday, according to The Star-Ledger. "(Tebow's) ball comes out a little bit stronger, but he's accurate, he's more accurate than what I thought he was going to be. But he's a good dude, he has a great personality, he'll bring a lot of personality to the team." How much more mustard does Tebow have on his throws? "A lot, a lot more velocity. No diss to Mark, he brings it, man." Sanchez has been criticized for plenty of things, but a lack of arm strength isn't one of them. He's capable of making all the necessary NFL throws, and proved (at least during his time with Braylon Edwards) that he can throw a nice deep ball. Accuracy, not arm strength, will always be the issue with Tebow. Bottom line: He's not unseating Sanchez (or anybody else) until he substantially improve his 47.3 percent career completion percentage.
sigh, the media loves them some Tebow....... one receiver says he throws harder then Sanchez and he isn't as innacurate as he expected(and from what the media spouts expectations had to be pretty low) and it is treated as legitimate news. Unbelievable
Is this a reading comprehension test? Your question; "Are you not a Jets fan"? My answer is; Ofc I'm a Jets fan. Why else would I say "WHEN the Jets make a Super Bowl run". For the Jets to NOT make a SB run is incomprehensible. Your question; "Are you seriously implying Jets fans wouldn't be happy with a successful, Super Bowl team"? My answer is; My reference to a SB run had to do with some Jets fans having expressed a dislike for a circus atmosphere and I was merely trying to help prepare them for the inevitable, as there is rarely seen the kind of circus atmosphere that will exist WHEN the Jets make a SB run and only eclipsed by a Jets' SB win. Your observation; "That makes no sense". My observation; Careful reading improves reading comprehension.
Jets’ Kerley says Tebow throws harder than Sanchez Having caught passes from both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, Jets receiver Jeremy Kerley says there’s a big difference: Tebow throws a lot harder. “Different than Mark, different than Mark,” Kerley told the Star-Ledger when asked how Tebow throws. “[Tebow's] ball comes out a little bit stronger, but he’s accurate, he’s more accurate than what I thought he was going to be. But he’s a good dude, he has a great personality, he’ll bring a lot of personality to the team.” Asked how much more velocity Tebow has than Sanchez, Kerley said, “A LOT, a lot more velocity. No dis to Mark, he brings it, man.” Kerley wasn’t making any assessment about who’s the better passer between Tebow and Sanchez, but he was saying that after getting over the initial “shock” from the trade, he was glad to have Tebow as a teammate. “It was a good shocked,” Kerley said. “We got a winner on our team. Obviously, that’s what he is. I was shocked but I was happy.” Here we go!!! Like this won't start anything.
The circus atmosphere for a Super Bowl run would be completely different than this. Right now the Jets are the butt of jokes, media is creating controversy, and basically putting pressure . A Super Bowl circus is completely different. I still think implying that Jets fans wouldn't like a Super Bowl circus is ridiculous. The Tebow media circus is not equivalent to the Super Bowl circus. The Jets had just as big of a circus 2010-2011 with the reporter, Braylon, feet, etc etc but the Jets were winning so its different that this circus coming off a bad 8-8 season. I just don't see the Super Bowl circus being as negative or frustrating to read as the Tebow circus the media created
I'll start believing when the motherfucker leads this team back from 2+ scores down to victory using not just his legs.
Who ever said if the Jets get Trent Richardson they wouldn't need Tebow couldn't be more wrong. If the Jets get Richardson and put him with Tebow they will have an unstoppable run game. Tebow's running ability would make Richardson 10 times more valuable. On top of Tebow's own running ability he has 2 things that open the run game dramatically. He is a great deep passer AND has the toughness to stand in the pocket and throw deep which opens the run game so much... And the escapability from the pocket that prevents people from attacking him there.
It always starts slowly and builds... Rex and Tanny are in win now mode they're not going to wait on Sanchez if he falters... they're gonna switch to Tebow BEFORE the season is LOST along with their jobs.
