Schefter is reporting he's available. Assuming we can get him for something like a 5th or 6th, and then be able to fit him under the cap, would this be a good football move?
Samuel is known for jumping routes. He gets burned a lot more because of that. Plus, he shies away from tackling. I want my safeties to want to tackle.
I doubt he would take the 2-2 1/2 million the Jets probably want to spend on that position. (If that)
On a serious note Talib would be a faaaar better option. Much much cheaper, younger, probably available for a 6th. Dunno if he could play safety, but hed be a tremendous opition @ dime/nickle corner
This is a really scary thought given that the first slot receiver that put a move on Landry would cause the spectacle of a man pulling every muscle that can be pulled in one spasmodic attempt not to get juked out of his shoes. Whether Landry ever was capable of playing FS at a high level is questionable but right now he's built for Pumping Iron not covering little guys who can move.
Well between the two of them one is really likely to be out for the year by the time the 2nd meeting winds down. If Landry wasn't injury prone I'd have been just fine with the signing. As it is he has Kris Jenkins written all over him only he's not that good. The Jets went all-in with Jenkins because they had an all-pro NT candidate if he stayed healthy.
