i think michael bush is a really good #2 guy. he's going to be solid behind forte just like he was solid behind mcfadden. but, i don't think he's the right guy for the jets. and i'm desperate for an upgrade to the rbs. he has the same skillset as greene. he might be slightly better.. but both being the main guy for their teams last year, greene had the better year.
Forte is pissed, and rightfully so IMO. "There's only so many times a man that has done everything he's been asked to do can be disrespected!" Forte wrote on his Twitter account. "Guess the good guys do finish last." Added Forte's agent, "To sign yet another running back, prior to completing a contract with Matt suggests disregard for Matt and his contribution to the Bears." Forte may end up skipping offseason workouts and holding out of training camp in protest. http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football?r=1
Hmm. The Pats cleared a ton of cap space with Brady's restructuring. They let Green-Ellis go to Cincy without countering his offer there. Belichick has a history of trading with the Bears. Used to be Jerry Angelo, but I don't know of any ties to their new GM. They have two first-round picks and two seconds. I hate the offseason. I know this is wild speculation on my part, but that's what happens to me.
Bart Scott + Wayne Hunter for Forte? LOL. Seriously though, apparently they don't think much of the guy. I wonder what it would take to get him? Maybe SG and a 2nd rounder? Maybe not the best RB for the ground and pound, but he's one of the most productive players in the league.
If this happens we can kiss the division goodbye. We'll be playing for a wild card spot before the season even begins. Adding Lloyd and Forte to that offense? Are you kidding? That just wouldn't be fair. I'm also hearing rumors that the cap space might be used to make Mike Wallace an offer.
Ive pretty much kissed it goodbye until brady retires given Mike Wallace wants Larry Fitzgerald money (and the Pats now have to pay Tommy nearly $22m next year and the year after) I dont see that happening.
i don't understand comments like the bolded. how is one of the best rbs in the league not one of the best for an offense based around running? is ground and pound limited to bigger backs running straight up the middle every time? because that offense would suck.
Incarcerated bob is reporting that the Pats and Bears are coming close to making a deal for Forte... Though Incarcerated bob has been a dipshit before
I think he comes on this site, and makes a prediction from some silly fan speculation... I hope he's right!
