    Jake Steinberg ‏ @Steiny31
In case you missed it last night, the #Jets have resigned WR and Mark Sanchez's BFF Scotty McKnight.

    Jake Steinberg ‏
Rex's word choice here is key. He said Wayne Hunter is the #Jets starting RT "for now."

For now, it seems like a draft day trade to get a 7th rounder out of Jim and picking up a RT early in the draft.

If I were any other team, you couldnt pay me to take Hunter let alone give up any kind of draft pick for him.

Wayne Hunter is not a starting RT, but he'd be well worth a 7th rounder. As line depth he's a great roster addition. most 7th round picks are cut or on the practice squad anyways, Hunter would make the team undoubtedly.

I'd love a RT in the 2nd round.

    1. OLB
    2. RT
    3. FS

    And sign Braylon. Reasonable?

Jets contact Peyton Manning = Sanchez extension
Jets sign Tim Tebow = Sign Sanchez's BFF

I'm guessing Braylon costs a couple more dollars that Scottie McKnight - just a thought.

Unless you're in contact with Edwards and his DR we really don't know what his health is like. Also price tag, I bet Scotty is PS and not on the active roster.

Maybe some familiar depth for Sanchez while awaiting status on Braylon's rehab following surgery.

If a top RT/G drops to us I can see going for that vs OLB.

Edwards is still rehabbing and isn't close to be ready to go. Why sign a guy who you don't even know if he can play yet. They'll probably evaluate him down the line, but just not yet. Can't wait for draft day.

Agreed, Hunter is a good guy to keep around because he's a relatively versatile backup.

But I think we've established pretty definitively that he's not a starter. Not even close.

Wrong. Hunter has no value. No team will trade for a 2.5 MIL backup tackle when you have potential 7th rounders competing with the guy for a roster spot. Plus, if a 7th round pick makes your team he makes the league minimum.

Hunter is guaranteed $2.5 million this year. Teams generally don't trade for backup linemen getting paid $2.5 million.
