Tony K sounded nervous. Tony excels in a conversational style of dialogue... which, if you have a guy on your left (Tirico) doing play-by-play and a guy on your right (Theisman) who doesn't respond to dialogue because he is lost in his own thoughts trying to come up with his next mundane statement.... you are in trouble.

I did NOT enjoy the broadcast at all.

    Tirico did a fine job.

But there were points at which Tony posed questions like when talking about Aaron Brooks's being 0-4 on the night and not deserving the money he got paid... and Theisman just decided he didn't want to respond. Listen I understand the whole don't criticize other players thing amongst retired players, and Tony being a journalist and not a ex-player is going to go place (with criticism) that ex-players won't go... but if thats the case then you need an explayer intelligent enough to circumvent those conversations. Not a guy that will just sit there until Tirico says, "3rd and short, Tomlinson with the carry and he picks up the first down."

I saw shades of Dennis Miller in last nights broadcast and it killed me, because Tony is great... but as long as Theisman is in the booth with him he will have to dumb it down. Whats the point.

If there is one thing I can't stand more than John Madden's penchant for rambling about unrelated subjects... its Theisman not saying anything for 2 minutes and then blurting out a statement like, "if there going to get this team back into the playoffs, they will have to start by getting the offense going." Shit like that makes me dumber having listened to it (Billy Madison).

Theisman cannot participate in a 2-headed conversation he just says stuff and then shuts up. Its pathetic.

It was alright. Tony K was my favorite, and I like what he brings to the discussion. I've always hated Theisman though, everytime I see his mug / hear his voice, I don't know why, but I want to punch him....

I will need to see a couple more broadcasts to make a final decision. It is very different though... I always liked Michaels.

I agree with your assessment. It's still abit early to judge Tony K, but so far, I think he'll be fine. I absolutely cannot stand Theisman either, but I guess it's a tiny bit better than having Madden continue his senile ramblings.

    They did an OK job...

Joe Theisman talks too much though and says some questionable things...

Oh and the scoreboard is terrible IMO.

I thought it was horrible. I hate Joe Thiesman and Tony Kornheiser actually said the silent count was like "Mime football" WTF?

Theisman was the worst of the old bunch...the fact they kept him and got rid of the other 2 guys is comical. Tony K is out of place and nobody wants to listen to these dickknots in the booth.

Get somebody who knows something about football and isn't a complete dildo or Ill be watching MNF with the MUTE button on!

The team has no chemistry and if they don't get it together, I don't think they will be back next year. Although it was only their first broadcast so hopefully after time they get to know each other and their tendencies.

Quick question here... I remember hearing somewhere that the final 7 weeks of the season are under the flexible schedule meaning that the primetime games may be changed if it is a crappy matchup.. Is that true? And secondly, does that put our only Monday Nighter vs. Miami in jeopardy?

    Yes & Yes.

The NFL will choose what game will play MNF based on the best matchup of the week. If that puts our only MN game in jeopardy than so be it. Im all for getting to watch the best matchup that week. Ill get to see my jets whenever they play.

    Alright thanks.

Yeah I agree that is the way it should be, but I love watching the Jets on Monday Nights... I guess we'll have to earn it this year.

And those displaced NY fans will suffer because we already see little of the team as it is.

The scoreboard at the bottom of the screen took up way too much room. It was annoying. You couldn't see the receiver lined up at the lower part of the tube. I hope they change it.
