Glad he didn't end up in Miami or Washington, for what it's worth.

Exactly, the Mets suck ass enough that the last thing we needed was the Nationals to have more star players then we do.

Somehow I don't think that is going to work out over the long haul. Maybe a good 3 or 4 more years...maybe.

That's a great 1-2 punch in the middle of the lineup. They'll be contending for the WS this year for sure.

Fielder signing with the Tigers was a bit surprising, but I would expect something like that. Nowadays, there are no loyalties to sports teams. Players only go where they can get more money.

They guy will weigh 300 LBS in a few years and decline in my humble opinion. Big and risky contract.

Many people said the same thing about CC Sabathia that he would eat his way out of baseball. If you knew anything about Fielder and his diet you wouldn't feel the same way. The guy is a known vegetarian and doesn't eat any fatty foods. He is a healthy big man.

There are rumors that Martinez may be able to come back early from his injury which means Martinez could just DH. Honestly this makes the Tigers a serious contender in the AL. The middle of the lineup is ridiculous and having Verlander just makes this signing that much more scary.

Well he already weighs 285 and that's after some weight loss so 300 doesn't really seem to be much of a stretch from where he is now.

I've read those stories but I don't really buy that. Sure he can quit eating meat and fish but there's really not much healthy about a guy being 5'11 285 in his shape. If he cut out fatty foods then he must be eating tons of other shit everyday because I just don't see how you can work out 5/6 days a week and eat right and sustain that much body fat at the same time, at 28 years old. It just doesn't add up.

Have you read about his feud with his dad? That, and a few other interesting tidbits, in this here story:

Terry and Eric Metcalf both played for the Cardinals and Redskins on various occasions.

I wouldn't close Boston's window of making the WS just yet. It wouldn't be that surprising if they made it.

but yeah, AL is going to be so very competitive.

I think we will see Prince as the full time Dh sooner than later. No way the guy wants to take care of his body. Hes going to have all kinds of knee and back problems by the age of 31. So I think...
